Follow me to Terra Luna!
This one-of-a-kind event is one of the few that won’t be virtual in 2020! If you had the pleasure of attending last year, you know that it is not to be missed! I’m sure a lot of you join me in wanting to get out and do something, and this is the perfect event to get out and see.
On Sept. 17, 18, 19 and 20, the Overland Park Arboretum & Botanical Gardens will welcome back Terra Luna, a truly unique light and sound experience that brings the arboretum to life. The weekend includes never-before-seen performances from the world-renowned Quixotic.
The event is from 7:30–10:30 p.m. each night. Tickets are $25 each, and the whole experience takes about an hour. In the midst of Covid-19, there are several precautions in place:
- A limited number of tickets available (almost half of previous events each night to allow for easier social distancing). This means the event will definitely SELL OUT – get tickets now.
- Each ticket will be for a specific 30-minute time frame for entry to help keep social distance along the walk.
- The event is outside, and the walk-through path will be one-way only.
- Masks will be required to be worn at all times during the event, except when eating and drinking socially distanced from others.
- Performers will also be wearing masks when possible.
- Hand sanitizer and hand washing stations will be readily available.
- If for some reason the event is cancelled due to a community-wide health concern, tickets will be refunded.
If you haven’t had a chance to experience Quixotic, the company is breathtaking. They truly combine light, movement and rhythm for a unique experience for all of your five senses. Under the trees of the Overland Park Arboretum is so magical and a must-see experience. This company has performed all over the world, and you get to experience it in your backyard—a blend of performance art and technology that evokes emotion.
The pictures truly don’t do it justice; they only give you a little hint of what you can expect. Stop reading now and go buy your tickets!
