Disney fans showed up in droves for “A Touch of Disney,” Disneyland’s limited capacity ticketed experience at Disney California Adventure Park. The event runs through April 5 and Disneyland and California Adventure are set to open on April 30 at a 15 percent capacity for in-state residents.
The event offers favorite Disneyland Resort food and drink items, special photo locations, merchandise at Disney shops and a chance to see some favorite Disney and Pixar characters. The $75 ticket includes a $25 dining card towards the purchase of food and non-alcoholic beverages at the event.
Some of the favorite dishes offered include the world famous DOLE Whip, the Monte Cristo sandwich, lobster nachos, PB & J roll, carrot cake fennel cake fries, Banyan Beef skewers, tacos de papa and Mickey Mouse waffles.
Fans showed up early and it took about an hour to park. Trams that usually whisk guests to the entrance were unavailable so ticket holders walked about ¾ of a mile and then met with long lines to enter the event.
Once inside, guests were able to download the Disneyland mobile app and order food and drink items off of their phones and head to the six themed marketplaces and locations throughout the park to pick up their dishes. Diners also can enjoy sit down alfresco dining at the Lamplight Lounge and Carthay Circle.
In addition to enjoying Disney treats and libations, I spotted dozens of guests dressed in their Disney themed outfits waving to Pixar and Disney characters, snapping selfies and photos and shopping for Disney memorabilia.
After exiting the event, I headed over to Black Tap restaurant in Downtown Disney to try their new Kobe Beef Steakhouse Burger. The huge burger includes Kobe beef, pepper jack cheese, bacon, crispy onions and garlic aioli. It’s messy, big and delicious. I also tried their special edition strawberry shake featuring Mickey Mouse.
Everything was tasty and completed a day full of Disney magic.
