On the stretch of Highway 9 leading east from Norman to Lake Thunderbird is a bed-and-breakfast/restaurant comfortably nestled among 20 tree-filled acres and a four-acre vineyard.
Whispering Pines owner Dawn Vo, a former ICU nurse from Tulsa, acquired the B&B/restaurant in mid-September. She says from the gazebo and koi pond to intimate restaurant with fireplace, it was love at first sight.
The bed-and-breakfast has seven guest rooms—three in the main building and four cottages. Amenities include a free breakfast, room service, and a small kitchenette with microwave and refrigerator in each room.
“And we are one of only a few B&Bs that has jet tubs,” Dawn said.
The restaurant, which is open to both guests and the public Tuesday through Saturday evenings, features a chef-inspired menu, with food made fresh daily, and a full bar. Reservations are required and may be made by calling 405.447.0202 or through their Facebook page.
Whispering Pines, 7820 E. State Highway 9, also is a wedding/event venue.
