More and more home buyers are asking questions about environmental risks than ever before. These are fair questions and one we all should be asking and should be getting answers. There is a new site to tackle the many facets of questions and concerns buyers have expressed. Buyers Aware is a partnership of researchers, faculty members at Texas A &M, the Texas Division of Emergency Management and FEMA. The goal is to provide a one stop approach for analytical tools to assess flood and fire risk. It is very thorough with mitigation solutions and welcomes challenges to the results to ensure accuracy. While no one can predict the future, we all want to be prepared for anything that might happen. Lenders and insurance companies are also looking at data to help the buyer. If we all work together with the facts that help everyone make the decisions that provide solutions, we all win.
Did you know that a new survey showed that 73% of homeowners have regrets about their home purchase? Don't be that homeowner, love your home.
