Seasonable Style

By Savvy Chic

And just like that, Fall is here. Although the leaves are still green and the temperatures haven’t dropped, many are ready to ditch the summer sundresses and flip-flops for colder weather looks. The trends this season are fun, easy to wear, and will brighten up the coldest of days.

The colors for Autumn/Winter contrast our desire for calm blacks and comfortable greys with energy-boosting exuberant shades. “Barbiecore” is a bright, vibrant trend defined by a particular color of pink. You will see it everywhere, from dresses and jackets to shoes and accessories. Shades of purple emerged in Spring and continue as the choice for the season’s palette due to their ability to blend with the deeper and more traditional hues of Fall. Likewise, caramel tones are having a moment. Add a touch of caramel to your outfit this season for the ultimate “cool-girl” look.

Leather is synonymous with Fall and gets a heavy-duty treatment in 2022. Fashionistas recognize the wardrobe staple of a leather jacket and the crucial faux-leather legging. However, the trend this year extends into dresses, straight-leg pants, and tops and makes a statement. Head-to-toe leather options will be endless this season. Blazers, tank tops, and skirts in multiple lengths will prevail not in just black but in an array of colors.

Sequins are not just for special holidays or nightclubs anymore. It is time to sparkle and shine in something fancy, day or night. There is no wrong way to incorporate this trend into your look, whether you start small with a clutch or go big and bold in a jumpsuit or jacket.

From schoolgirl tweed and plaid to menswear-inspired suits, “back to basic” classic looks are not only appropriate for the office but will mix and match with your favorite denim.  Shoulders become bold in oversized, tailored jackets and puffed-sleeve sweaters and blouses.

Whatever your style is, you won’t be amiss by adding simple details to stay chic this Fall.  Elements like bows and feathers are modest features and will adorn shoes, dresses, and bottoms. Extreme cutouts in clothing styles will let you show a little skin while remaining warm during chillier days and nights. Finally, cozy continues with athleisure fashion leaning toward retro aesthetics that allow you to show a sporty side while remaining comfortable.
