Fall Fashion Veneration

Stephanie Coultress O'Neill, owner of Estilo boutique in Tarrytown, has been a fashion icon in Austin since founding Estilo in 2005. Estilo literally translates to style in Spanish, and that is the focus of both the clothing and the space. Since 2005, Estilo has received numerous accolades and awards including Austin Fashion Week Critics Choice for Best Overall Fashion Boutique, Best Retailer, featured in Austin Monthly as well as Austin Chronicle's “Best of Austin.”

Stephanie was a former therapist at Lifeworks and in private practice. She pursued her love for creating emotional connections with people and building confidence and creativity through fashion. Having lived in Austin for over 20 years, she wanted to create a retail clothing concept that was curated, versatile, and timeless while offering a personalized styling experience for each client.

Since operating during Covid-19, there are multiple ways in which people can shop: in person (the store adheres to all of the county requirements of frequent cleaning and masks), online at www.estiloboutique.com or through curated Style Boxes where Stephanie and her staff curate items based on the customer’s requests and their knowledge of key fashion pieces that are then delivered door-to-door or can be picked up curbside.

Always breaking boundaries, Estilo is the first Austin boutique to create a shopping app. Users can download it from the app store for free. The app is called: Estilo Boutique.

“We are always looking for new ways to make the shopping experience easier for our clients,” said Stephanie O’Neill. “Our customers have several different ways to engage with us based on their preference of in person, social distancing or remote shopping.”

Prior to 2015, Estilo was the first boutique to open in downtown’s burgeoning 2nd Street District. Stephanie moved locations five years ago to be closer to her daughter’s school and the customers she serves. She says the Casis village location at 2727 Exposition offers customers the chance to get nearby coffee, groceries, toys, jewelry, clothing, stationary and medical goods from the variety of retailers within walking distance.

Stephanie opened Estilo Men last November a few doors down from her women’s store.  Having previously sold menswear at her location downtown, she was excited for the opportunity to serve the mens’ market again.  With the goal of replicating a man’s dream closet, O’Neill created a space that is classic, with contemporary elements that showcases the hand-curated selections, from casual to cocktail wear.

She loves being able to style both women and men and shares her thoughts on the hottest trends for Fall.

Top 5 Fall Trends of 2020

  1. Natural Tones – I am always a fan of monochromatic looks, and this Fall it is strong once again.  Mix and match varying shades of neutral tones together or go full tonal.  It’s always a chic look.
  2. Statement Sleeves – It is all about the sleeves and the bold shoulders.  From puff sleeves to statement sleeves, this 80’s inspired trend is so fun!
  3. Statement Chain and Bold Gold Accessories – From the classic chain necklace to chain hoops, bold gold pieces are key to add that extra to any outfit.
  4. Animal Prints – Still on trend… and so fun to wear.  Embrace your wild side by picking your favorite animal to represent.
  5. LEATHER – HUGE fall trend.  Always in style, but this season you will see everything from leather pants to leather tops to leather jumpsuits and dresses.  So pick your fave piece and embrace it, giving your outfit that perfect edge.
