Family & Friends During the Holidays

Thankful For Time Together

"Family meals have always been important.  Holidays take that to the next level. My son Dylan has helped make the stuffing for the turkey the night before since he was little and had to stand on a chair. Both boys, Ronnie and Dylan, stuff the turkey together first thing in the morning. I am thankful for any time I spend with my boys! " Dawn Smith, Owner Absolute Wellness and Weightloss

"A tradition for Thanksgiving is definitely watching football and then rooting for the Gators to beat FSU. Allie, our doggie, is the definition of tryptophan coma!" Dr. Laura, Dianne & Allie, Owners of North Florida Rehab & Chiropractic

"Each year the Eta Sigma Chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority Incorporated and Philo Affiliates provide a traditional family Thanksgiving meal to our families at the House. For this we and our families are forever grateful." Sherry Houston, Executive Director at Ronald McDonald House Charities of North Central Florida.

"My mom and dad had the idea of having Thanksgiving at the furniture store for the first time, so we did! We got the food from The Ivey House in Williston. My brother and his wife drove up from Cape Coral and my sister and her husband came from Jacksonville. It was such a nice day being with family and fun having it at the store." Owner, Mary Kate Walker, Walker Furniture

"My family and I love movies! Every year on Thanksgiving, we watch The Sound of Music together after dinner." Jennifer Cassidy, Owner of Club Synergie Natural Skin & Body Spa.

"At the Gainesville Opportunity Center, our tradition is that holidays are celebrated on the day they are observed. Therefore, we are open Thanksgiving Day for our Members to come for a meal. Mental illness can be an isolating disease, and many people spend holidays alone. At the GOC, we create a community of supports, resources, and opportunities for our Members. Celebrating Holidays like Thanksgiving with our Members is our tradition." Gainesville Opportunity Center (GOC)
