Tell Us About What you Carry for Men, Women, Kids & Pets - We carry a full line of Women's, Men's and Kids apparel and accessories, new and used vinyl records, unique Home accessories, like books and barware, fun gifts and many locally designed and MN made items. We also carry Pet gear and offer a full Pet Bakery, our Pet-issierie is for dogs and dog lovers who spoil them! We are a fully curated lifestyle store and a one stop shop.
Has anything changed since you first opened the store? Since opening we've grown the store from the main floor to now the entire building, which has allowed us to expand the Women's, Men's and Home Accessories departments and add a full floor for Kids and Pets.
It's a department store right here in the neighborhood.
Your team has a lot of combined retail experience. Does that help with personalized styling in the store? We take retail very seriously but not ourselves. We prioritize client service and want people to have fun and hope to help them find what they are looking for or didn't know they needed! Clients can count on us to be honest, authentic and to know that we just want people to look and feel their best in whatever they buy for themselves or others.
What kinds of trends are you seeing for Fall 2022 (fall colors, style, etc) both on the Women's and Men's side?
Fall and Holiday are all still about COLOR. It started in Spring and just keeps going. Barbie pinks, deep reds, vibrant purples and spice-inspired colors like mustard, cumin and cinnamon all flow right into holiday, done in traditional holiday fabrics like rich silks, velvets and sequins. We can't wait for these collections to hit the floor. Menswear for Women: Blazers, Outerwear, Fair Isle and knit sweaters, are still going strong paired with a button down and chunky loafer. Pattern is getting even bolder for Men..great color plaids in shirts and jackets, corduroy suit separates and more. Dressing up is going to be a big focus for both Men and Women, brands are definitely ready to get people out of their athletic gear and leggings and back into some "look good, feel good" fashion this holiday!
What seem to be your best-selling or most popular brands (clothing & accessories)? We are really proud of the brands we've curated across all of the departments. We carry Sol Angeles for the entire family from newborn to Womens and Mens, it's a laid back West Coast brand all made in the US. Also available in Womens, Home and now available in Mens for fall, is Faherty. We love the easy, casualness of this Northern Cali Brand. Like Sol Angeles, we've been rocking Scotch and Soda for some time and were thrilled to start carrying this modern, cool brand from Amsterdam, same with Farm Rio, a vibrant, colorful, brand from Brazil. These brands make getting dressed so much fun every season!
And just like apparel, we believe accessories should be effortless, cool statement pieces without being overdone. We carry a gorgeous jewelry line, Freida Rothman, a second generation jeweler from NYC, Secrid wallets and card carriers from the Netherlands, handcrafted bracelets from nautical-inspired brand Pig & Hen, irreverent Swarovski crystal costume jewelry, made in Italy and seen often in Vogue, by Lisa C Bijoux, and most recently, Nixon. Known for their watches, we carry them for Men and Women but also carry their accessories like backpacks, hats and more. Nixon is a brand collected by Creatives and those is the know for their partnerships with athletes, musicians and designers. If you've seen us once in the last decade, we've been sporting a Nixon watch.
What have been your best selling gifts this year? We've got great gift ideas for Husbands to Hostess Gifts, Groomsmen, Grandkids, Co-workers and Besties. We love helping people find that special gift from jewelry to drink ware. We've got something for everyone. We love sharing local designers like Camille Hempel's Love Medals, military-inspired metals for anyone you want to show love and support to or Melissa C Mark's Screw U Necklaces, Earrings and Buttons for showing you or a friend's sassier side! And MN-made gift ideas, especially food-gifts like savory sweet nuts and gravel (paleo-friendly, non-oat granola) by Edina maker Num Nuts, 3 Lonetti Sisters Meatball Mix or Lovejoy's Bloody Mary Mix just to name a few.
Tell us about your vinyl collection - what can people find when they come to shop? Music is a big part of our vibe in the store. We sell new and used vinyl records, record players, cassette tapes, headphones and more. We have custom playlists for each floor, including our rooftop and for different times of the day. Might be more mellow in the morning and builds to Pop and Hip Hop by the afternoon. Our vinyl offering varies as much as our playlists and you'll find an eclectic mix of the latest releases from Wet Leg and Harry Styles next to all times bangers from A Tribe Called Quest, Blondie and LCD Soundsystem.
Do you have any upcoming events or art installations for the fall? (or please expand on your summer ones) We are so excited to be nearing our second full year of featuring local Artists in our Walking Art Galleries and could spend the entire article talking about this concept and our exciting ideas for the fall season. We feature Artists from all mediums, photography to paint, collage, sketch and more. This summer we had the honor of hosting Jeremy Clark @jem.a.clark, @moto_volta who creates motorized bikes, bike photography and Bio-feel-ea moss art. Jeremy is the first solo Artist to have separate shows in both galleries. Artists receive 100% of the profits and we get to enjoy and show off their art for 3-4 months at a time. It's a win - win - win because Clients get to view and shop new pieces every season! We host a free event to celebrate each Artist, some are night before preview events, mid-season (to take advantage of the rooftop) and even wrap parties (thanks Covid!) and everyone is invited.
