When Lisa and Jasher FeelLove opened their first coffee shop in St. George, Utah, it wasn’t simply a business decision, it was an effort to preserve something sacred in their day and routine. Like many people, that morning cup of coffee was an essential part of the day for the pair. Even when traveling their first task after arriving in a new locale is to figure out where to find the best coffee.
“This was a ritual, on a daily basis, that we would do every morning, “Lisa explains about the role coffee plays in their lives. “It’s something that we enjoy doing together, creating that space and creating that experience.”
So, when their favorite local coffee stop unexpectedly shuttered, they took matters into their own hands. Already being owners of a large and successful yoga studio, Be Hot, it made sense to incorporate this new initiative into that same location. In March 2019, the first FeelLove coffee opened inside Be Hot Yoga. It was an immediate success from your first visit - that’s no surprise. With unique and inventive coffee recipes, authentic French baked goods, delicious breakfast offerings, loose leaf teas, and a design aesthetic that oozes a welcoming sense of comfort, this is not just grabbing your average cup of joe, but rather an event - something sacred.
“When something is sacred, you feel it,” Lisa says of their approach to coffee. “It’s not outside of you anywhere, and when you have an experience that enlightens you and changes you, you go and share that.”
When Lisa’s son, Tanner Wood, and his wife Snowee relocated their family to Loveland, they knew it was the perfect place to test the now successful Utah brand in Colorado. The Woods had been heavily involved in the development of the FeelGood Coffee Brand and wanted badly to bring it to their new home. After first being declined on their initial offer to purchase Bean Tree, the coffee shop that previously inhabited their downtown Loveland location, the owners had a change of heart and sold to the FeelLove family. The first step was renovating the space to reflect that design sense that was so much a part of the experiential coffee shop. Snowee, who like Lisa has some background in interior design, took charge and created a space that perfectly embodies FeelLove Coffee’s mission and even pays homage to the Bean Tree with a mosaic coffee tree set into the service counter.
“We waited almost a year before we found the right spot,” Snowee said of the time it took to open Colorado’s first FeelLove location. “We were able to have the patience and the feeling was strong that it was going to be here.”
Whether you’re stopping in for a to-go cup and a fresh scone or staying to have brunch with friends, it’s apparent from the moment you walk in that this place is something different from the typical. Something that has not gone unnoticed or unappreciated by their quickly growing customer base.
“It’s been really great, the community is amazing and we absolutely love how they have really come together to support us,” Snowee says of their new home. “Everyone who’s walked in has acknowledged how appreciative they are about what we’ve created the space to be and what offerings we bring.”
The crew is already setting their sights on opening more shops in the region but are in no hurry. For the time being, they’re happy to be providing Loveland with the best coffee experience they can possibly create, and are absolutely feeling the love in their new home.
