Need to clear your head or sinuses? Then the Intown Salt Room is for you. Located in Atlanta’s Grant Park area, Intown Salt Room offers a dry salt therapy (halotherapy) and meditation with sound therapy room. The Intown Salt Room is the only standalone facility to offer both experiences inside Atlanta’s Perimeter.

Salt Therapy

The Salt Room walls are made up of 6,000 pounds of pink Himalayan salts, and there is a state-of-the-art halogenerator that disperses a precise dry salt aerosol into the salt room. All you do is relax and breathe. The salts do the rest. The dry salt helps to open and expand airways and allows more oxygen in for a deeper breath. Don’t be surprised if you start coughing; it’s just getting the bad stuff out! One time I was feeling as if I was about to get sick with a cold, and it helped turn things around. It really works. Here’s why!

Salt therapy helps remove toxins from the respiratory system, improves the function and appearance of the skin and boosts the immune system. It also can alleviate stress, anxiety and helps improve allergies, asthma and sinus infections. It is all-natural with no side effects. Oh, yes—there is one. When I came out, my lips felt dry and salty, but that is a small price to pay for good sinus relief! Would you do the same?

Mediation Rooms

The meditation room, whose temperature ranges from 68 to 72 degrees, is equipped with two state-of-the art, zero-gravity Wave Loungers from So Sound Solutions with proprietary Acoustic Resonance Technology.™ Basically, it allows sound to resonate through the body while it’s simultaneously piping in via in-room speakers and headphones. A Himalayan salt tower releases negative ions to help balance your body that is 100 times more powerful than a regular salt lamp.

When I first did the meditation room, it was challenging just relaxing in the zero-gravity sling chair. They reminded me of beach chairs, and I relaxed even more. I felt I should be doing something. But, I ended up really relaxing and calming down. It’s one of the few times where you just sit there, let your mind calm down and get the stress out. If you are a high-stress person, then consider this mediation room. A half hour will do you good.

New Bath Salts

Carrie Wright, founder of Intown Salt Room, just created a line of bath salts. The salts, which only have natural and organic ingredients, will help relax the mind, body and nerves as well as soothe skin, relieve muscle tension and improve sleep.

There are two types of fragrance-free salts are available: RESTORE, featuring Epsom and Himalayan pink sea salts and coconut milk powder; and SOOTHE, containing Epsom salt, dead sea salt and organic oatmeal.

Give the Intown Salt Room a try. You may not know salt and meditation rooms. I sure didn’t, but now I’m a fan. Try the Intown Salt Room and you will be too.
