Rick Banks is the owner and director of SFX Fitness in Roswell and believes that everyone’s fitness story is unique. While he is a very private person, he shared with us that he found healing and hope in the gym community after slipping into a dark place, losing his sense of self. Now, he wants to help others find their brighter, healthier core through community, commitment, and consistency.

“The SFX Experience is all about discovering your personal fitness journey and what keeps you motivated and committed to creating a healthy lifestyle,” he says. "Beginning with a personal assessment of members’ fitness level and goals, we help build a unique program and help them choose the right fitness approach for them. We are known for our personal training excellence and boot camps, as well as a variety of group fitness classes.”

LW: What is your personal fitness regime and how has it benefited your physical and mental health?

RB: Fitness is my passion! I am living out my dream as the owner of SFX Fitness. I believe in a fitness routine not only to keep in shape, but also to help guide me  physically and mentally every day.

LW: Why did you choose Roswell as the home for your business?

RB: Roswell has a strong sense of community that is hyper-sensitive to supporting small businesses and an urban lifestyle which has helped accelerate its growth. With the ongoing development of real estate, as well as annual population growth of 8%, it was an easy decision to open our first location here.

LW: If there was one piece of fitness advice you'd share with our readers in January, what would it be?

RB: Incorporate the three “C's” into your daily life to help you achieve your personal and professional goals: Community, commitment, and consistency. All three play an important role in one’s dedication to mental and physical wellbeing. I have stood by these words as pillars from an early age and use them on a daily basis in my personal and professional life.
