HOLLY FARROW

OCCUPATION: Photographer

KIDS: Cooper, Alex and Isabelle

What is your favorite thing to do with your kids?

My dad made us a marble game, we have so much fun playing together. We also love to sit in the hot tub and just catch up on life.

Name a time where you earned your #1 Mom mug.

Probably all of the times I attend the kids sporting events (there are a lot of them!). I will drop everything to be there to support them. I love being their biggest cheerleader.

How has motherhood changed you?

It made me take the focus off of myself and it became all about my kids. I feel like I found myself when I became a mom. It has made me a happier person.

OCCUPATION: Attorney at Coats | Rose

KIDS: Evan and Ashley

How do you measure success as a mom? In my mind, real success as a mom is measured when your kids are grown and you get to see all of your love and hard work in action.  I want to see my kids become adults who are good friends, hard workers, loving spouses and great parents.

Did you feel prepared for motherhood? Certainly not. I had just started my professional career so there were some work/life balance issues. I figured out quickly that I needed to be near family back in Celina. Here I was able to find my village.

What has been the most heartwarming mom moment so far? The day I locked eyes with those two for the first time. I dreamt of having kids my whole life and imagined what being a mom would look and feel like. The reality of it was even better than the dreams.

OCCUPATION: Realtor at Eve Henry Homes - Monument Realty

KIDS: Austin, Rebecca, Lily, River, Brooke, Reed

What does being a mother mean to you? It's God's biggest blessing to me to be chosen to lead them. It's a chance to teach as well as learn, grow and tend to others growth, and love as well as feel an abundant source of never-ending love!

Do you think today’s mothers have it harder or easier? I think it's much harder. Not only do we deal with social media which is a beast in itself, our world simply moves faster and more is expected of both moms and kids.

If you were to give a soon-to-be mom one piece of advice, what would it be? Breathe and don't compare. Not every flower blooms at the exact same moment, embrace your child's timing.

KATIE DUNN

OCCUPATION: Owner, Little Wooden Penguin

KIDS: Greyson, baby brother

What’s the best thing about being a mom?  I love getting to show my son his mom being a strong, hardworking boss lady in industries that are typically male-dominated. It will change the way he views what women are capable of when he gets older, and that's amazing.

What qualities would you like to instill in your children?  I want my kids to hustle and work hard, but it doesn't matter how hard you work if you aren't kind, smart, and funny. Knowing how to treat people, craving knowledge, and not taking life too seriously, will only amplify the hustle!

What do you want to make sure that your children will remember about you? That I was a force of nature...oh and of course that I loved them tremendously!

Tell us three adjectives that describe being a mother.

Resilience – get back up and keep going

Compassion – always care for others

Inclusivity – it’s no longer just you

Describe a perfect day with your kids.

We love scuba diving together and attending their sports events, but my perfect day is when we all pile on the couch to watch movies.

What personality trait do you hope your children get from you?

Determination/Drive – always strive to be better for yourself and for others.
