"Is it Saturday?!" My kids jump into bed, excited as can be at the possibility of driving down the road and picking up some freshly baked English muffins for breakfast.
"It's Saturday," I laugh, snuggling them closer. "But it's only seven in the morning. We still have to wait a couple hours." They groan because, of course, waiting is the hardest part, and it's even harder when you're waiting on something so delicious. These "bread shed" mornings are truly special. I don't have to bake. I can trust the ingredients coming out of local kitchens. And I get to support my neighbors. There's so many farmstands around the valley and the people working them are committed to feeding and providing for their community. As a tribute to their hard work, I'd like to highlight a couple of these pop-ups in my area. As always, check Facebook or Instagram for up-to-date operating hours and locations.
