Flavors of Fall

Local Restaurants Offer a Bounty of Delicious Options Just in Time for Fall

For a real treat without any tricks, some of our favorite local chefs are offering some delicious culinary opportunities this fall.

If you are craving fresh seafood, then head to Shoal Creek Tavern. The Old Bay Trout, Shrimp and Crab is perfectly pan-seared and boasts a flavorful cajun sauce. This delectable entree is served with Cajun orzo and jalapeno hush puppies. Enjoy a craft cocktail as you dine and hear about daily specials that will certainly prompt a return visit.

Another savory seafood choice can be discovered at Tycoon. Tycoon’s new menu addition for fall is Miso Sea Bass. It is a pan-seared, miso-glazed Chilean sea bass and served with whipped garlic mash, cremini mushrooms and steamed broccolini. Arrive early and enjoy happy hour drinks at the unique glow bar or on the cozy patio.

Since Sip + Savor opened their doors in 2022, the restaurant has offered an extensive list of wines and craft cocktails. The courteous staff can help you pair the perfect glass of joy alongside their fall dish which includes a Nashville dusted double bone pork chop alongside brussel sprouts and hot honey pancetta. The chop’s very slow roasting is the secret to its flavor and success as a favorite dish. Check their website for wine and whiskey events on October 10 and 17.

Pasta is a dining favorite and Salerno’s Italian Restaurant in Highland Village does not disappoint. New for fall is their Jumbo Ravioli which can be ordered with cheese, beef or lobster. This fresh pasta can be covered in a choice of sauces and the lobster ravioli boasts its own unique flavor with a thick, rich vodka sauce. Also included in the fall line-up is a Pumpkin Spice Espresso Martini which is perfect for sipping at the newly remodeled bar area.

For more fine dining in Highland Village visit Bistecca Steakhouse where they are combining American cuisine with an Italian touch. This flavor is perfected in the Wisconsin-raised lamb chops, grilled on an open fire to capture a bold garlic flavor and just the right amount of tenderness. An Italian Steakhouse with an elegant atmosphere for the perfect romantic evening.

A French flavor adventure awaits at Vieux Carre. The knowledgeable staff is known for recommendations and lively conversation to enhance your meal. Begin with a timeless fondue and progress to the Boeuf Bourguignon as an entree. Wine classes are offered to those who would like to deepen their appreciation for fine wines.
