Despite many challenges amidst the pandemic, Stella Rose owner Stacia Johnson stuck with her vision of creating custom arrangements for all occasions as a community florist, as well as providing unique gifts for the home.
“We have worked in a multitude of art for the decades: design in floral, homes, art, calligraphy, weddings and much more. This is what led me to opening the storefront on Tecumseh Road in Norman, where our very roots began.
I was born in August of 1969, the first grandchild and the first great grandchild. My family has always been in Oklahoma. Norman is where so many dreams have started, or originated, and came to fruition for me.”
Stacia graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a degree in exercise sciences (training, and health and wellness). However, she has always been in the people business.
“I think there is something that calls us home—home to the things we have known and grown up with, the beautiful things that create us. I love sharing ideas, inspiration and art. I will never be too tired to hear someone's story and design something uniquely, just for them. Understanding people, gift giving, as well as creating arrangements, is my true passion.”
Stella Rose Floral and Home is named after Stacia’s great grandmother, the matriarch of her family.
“My life as a young girl was nothing less than timeless, magic and impressionable, in part because of my great grandmother, Stella. My fondest memories are of her in her garden and flowers,” she said. “When I was around the age of 7, we began arranging flowers and unique stems together. People would come from afar to see her beautiful art. Her zinnias and garden roses were an admiration of many. There was something truly magical about my grandmother. She painted, designed and articulated the most creative arrangements of flowers, and always made her dining table and outdoors inviting for all.”
This talent traveled through five generations.
Now married with her own children, Stella is continuing to build the family legacy here in her hometown.
“No doubt, time stood still with me as a child, growing up with Stella. I want that very thing for you when receiving your flowers. Timeless pieces. My thoughts now are, let's create you! In art, expression, design and your custom arrangements. After all, you are the masterpiece.”

“My dreams for the future are to be led from my Father above and to keep honoring our community, to allow the artistic flow to move through us all,” Stacia said. “If I had one dream come true, it was becoming a florist! I'm honored to be here, with the help of so many. We have a wonderful community! To the friendly faces that frequent Stella Rose, I will always be the girl blessed to be here.”
