From MAD To The Moon

Since opening its doors in the summer of 2019, MAD Houston is quickly becoming a name everyone is talking about.  This eccentric, Spanish inspired tapas restaurant is in a category all of its own.

Owner Ignacio Torras and Chef Luis Roger have teamed up once to again to take Houstonians on a dining experience that effortlessly transports them to Spain’s capital city of Madrid. The food is an adventure for the taste buds, allowing guests to taste the vibrant flavors of Spanish cuisine with savory dishes such as the MAD Tomato, Ostras (Oysters), and Pulpo (Spanish Octopus). For dessert, their best-selling dish is “Huevos Voladores,” which doesn’t just look out of this word; it tastes like it too. All this incredible food can be washed down with a drink designed by cocktail consultant, Jerry Argüelles. Jerry is best known for his highly-sought-after Gin & Tonic preparations and adds an exciting list of beverages to the menu, such as a Sandia or a Pimiento. The décor is by Barcelona- based designer Lazaro Rosa-Violán, and he has ingeniously captured the character and energy of the streets of Madrid and incorporated it into Houston’s luxury retail hot spot known as River Oaks District.  MAD is not just a restaurant; it’s a journey from MAD to the Moon.
