From OK to Captivating

Originally built in 1989, the clients’ home nestled on a wooded ravine had a cramped middle-level porch that did little justice to its view. By removing outdated elements, extending the footprint, and framing in a sweeping screened porch that breathes life and hospitality, the new space reflects the openness inside and out.

Intentional Design, Seamless Flow

The porch now connects directly to the enlarged kitchen via wide French doors. One moment you’re baking holiday desserts on the great new island—next moment you’re sipping morning coffee surrounded by the treetops. With timber beams tracing the ceiling, the porch echoes the richness of the kitchen while bringing outdoor serenity inside.

Craft Meets Comfort

Concrete piers and steel framing were needed to support this cantilevered addition. During construction, nearby plantings were protected and the team carefully orchestrated every move to minimize disruption. Inside, custom bead-board ceilings, hidden LED lighting, and thoughtfully placed ceiling fans ensure this porch is as practical as it is picturesque.

Built for Lifestyle

Whether it's tucked-in mornings with a warm mug, a neighborhood brunch, or holiday family gatherings, this porch lives up to its promise. It’s a flexible, covered haven where grandkids can sleep over “under the stars” and friends linger till twilight. That’s the lifestyle we build—rooted in place, yet alive in spirit.

With Dobson Place, the screened porch isn’t simply an afterthought—it’s a destination, an experience, and a cherished part of daily life.
