From Serious to Smiling

Need New Pearly Whites? Step Into Norman’s DDS Dentures + Implant Solutions

Macy Matheson is all about smiles. Which is a good thing, since as the general manager for DDS Dentures + Implant Solutions in Norman, she sees a lot of them.

“We so often take being able to smile for granted,” Matheson said. “So many of our patients go years without smiling, and that ultimately dramatically affects their happiness. When we give people their smiles back, they instantly have a glow about them and their confidence is restored. In short, when our patients get their smiles back, they get their life back!

“Our mission is to ‘delight the patient,’” she added. “We do this by welcoming each one into a safe, friendly and comfortable environment and we treat each patient as though they are one of our favorite family members.”

Norman’s DDS Dentures + Implant Solutions office is located at 2226 24th St. NW, and opened its doors in October of 2019. It’s one of many branches that the company maintains across the United States. Its affordability and rapid service have made it one of the leading dental care chains in the country. Patients who are experiencing pain or have other issues can receive same-day extractions, same-day replacement dentures, or a combination of the two.

“We have an in-house lab, which means we are able to do everything in one day, unlike traditional practices,” Matheson said. “Our patients are able to have their extractions and receive their dentures and same day. There is no time that our patients have to go without teeth.”

As the name indicates, along with customized dentures, the practice’s other main focus is dental implants. Whether it’s a single tooth, a few teeth or an entire top or bottom, patients will receive a customized treatment plan and work with the team to make their new smile a reality.

Other services provided include general exams, cleanings, crowns, bridges and extractions, Matheson said. Patients must be at least 18 years old. More information and appointment requests can be made through the website, Locations.DentalService.net/norman-ok-dentures, on Facebook @DDSNorman or by calling 548.1540. Office hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Spearheading the Norman DDS Implants team is Colin Du, D.M.D. Originally from Toronto, Canada, he earned his dental degree from the University of California in Los Angeles, and has been head of the Norman practice since it opened.

“Dentistry is a combination of medicine and art, and I like both,” Du said. “What I enjoy most in my work is the constant interaction with my patients. I make sure they understand the importance of their oral health. It’s also very fulfilling to help patients through customized treatments to improve their appearance and life quality.”

Du said he was in his last year of college when he began volunteering for his personal dentist. That led to him to change majors and enroll at UCLA’s dental school.

“Through much interaction with (my dentist) and his assistants I gained a lot of personal knowledge and discovered the many ways dentists help individuals, especially the elderly and those with cosmetic dental problems,” Du said. “What I gained from this is invaluable. I love what I’m able to do for my patients.”

The mission of the DDS Dentures + Implant Solutions chain is to provide high-quality care that is affordable. Many people live for years or even decades with the physical pain and cosmetic problems that result from dental problems, because they do not have dental insurance, cannot afford co-pays, or are otherwise unable to pay, Matheson said. In addition to significantly lower rates, the practice provides many payment plan options. For Medicare patients and others with dental insurance, “as a courtesy we verify their insurance information and be sure we’ve looked up all the benefits available, which are then incorporated into the treatment plan we provide,” she added.

New patient exams, X-rays and consultations are always free. Dentures begin at $550 for a full set, while dental implants are $995 per tooth.

The practice even offers a price-matching option. If a patient brings in an itemized treatment plan from a licensed dentist for identical services, DDS Dentures + Implant Solutions offers a 10% price match guarantee. (This program excludes government and charity-subsidized plans.)

Matheson noted that many of their patients are people who have gone for years assuming that implants or even dentures were forever out of reach, due to the expense. “Most implants are several thousand dollars per tooth,” she said. “Our patients are typically shocked when they see our prices on implants, compared to other practices.

“It’s so rewarding to be part of this team. We know that people’s smiles mean the world to them, and making them smile means the world to us!”
