Since 1991, the Wild Game Dinner has brought the Dripping Springs community together through a shared love of faith, family, and cooking, all with the goal of making a difference. What started as a small gathering of friends has grown into one of the area’s most anticipated annual charity fundraisers. Over 35 years, the event has distributed over $1 million to local organizations, thanks to the generosity of donors and attendees.
Originally held at the old Dripping Springs High School, the event moved to larger venues as attendance grew, eventually landing at Dripping Springs Ranch Park in 2024. This expansion allowed the event to serve over 700 guests, ensuring even greater community impact.
Each year, the fundraiser supports numerous local causes. The 2025 “Paddles Up” beneficiary, Patriots’ Hall of Dripping Springs, received $15,000, matched by the James Avery Foundation. Other beneficiaries include The Burke Center for Youth, School Fuel, and Hometown Missions, with over $120,000 distributed to 35 organizations.
Major sponsors such as Volvo Cars of Austin, Elliott Electric Supply, and Elite Beef played a crucial role in the most recent event’s success. Chef Cody Kidwell of Verdes Mexican Parilla brought his expertise to the team this year, enhancing the dining experience. Guests enjoyed an array of wild game, from Cape buffalo to scimitar oryx, alongside traditional BBQ favorites.
With live music, auctions, and unique traditions, the Wild Game Dinner remains a beloved community celebration that continues to make a lasting impact.
