The oldest brewery in Dripping Springs, Twisted X Brewing Company has long been a fixture in the local beer scene. Known for its bestselling McConauhaze Hazy IPA, the brewery offers a variety of small-batch beers in stores and inside its DS tasting room.
Long a destination for beer drinkers, Twisted X is rolling out a new food program to make the scenic grounds of the brewery a family destination as well.
Max Frisbie designed the menu and food operation. Trained at the Culinary Institute of America, the chef worked at some of Austin’s best restaurants as a part of MML Hospitality.
“It’s really exciting to be able to fill in the gaps in Dripping Springs dining and create a full-spectrum family experience,” he says.
The new food trailer features casual window service with elevated bar food, drinking snacks, and family-friendly options like chicken sandwiches highlighting fresh ingredients and local products.
Max is most excited about the signature smash burger featuring meat from nearby Brenner Cattle Company.
“It’s great to support local people, and it’s also some of the best beef I’ve ever had in my life. I can’t wait to share that with the community,” he says. “I have a soft spot for the Texas Hill Country. I’m an avid outdoorsman. Dripping Springs has a very special spot in my heart as people gather around these beautiful places here.”
This fall, the brewery is taking an international approach for a couple of small-batch brews. The Curry On (My Wayward Saison) features a botanical blend of ginger, lemon peel, turmeric, coriander, and white peppercorn.
The Poolmaster Lemongrass Pilsner is a zesty and refreshing light lager perfect for game day.
Just like the tasting room, the food operation will be open seven days a week. Max also plans to offer a weekly rotating dinner special. “Come grab a beer, then take dinner home to the family.”
