Salon & Spa De Crist
Girlfriends love to feel pampered. Salon & Spa De Crist on Third Street offers nearly every salon service including massages, facials, manicures/pedicures, chemical peels and more. The salon has been in Lee’s Summit for almost 20 years but just moved into its current location in November.
“We’ve always hung our hat on quality services and affordable pricing,” says Janel Schick, owner. “We want everyone to feel like they can go and enjoy a day at the spa. That’s always been a part of our business model.”
Schick says Salon & Spa De Crist is the perfect place to enjoy a girlfriends’ weekend as they offer many varied services, so there is bound to be something everyone in the group will enjoy. Additionally, she says the staff at the salon works together as a team of girlfriends.
“Our culture is different than other salons because we all look at our clients as a group of people we together serve as a team,” Schick says. “They are our clients, and we serve our clients.”
The spa is closed to the public on Saturdays to allow for private parties, creating for an opportunity for a fun weekend with only your group of friends.
The Historic Browning
After receiving spa services, girlfriends need a place to stay. Fortunately, The Historic Browning is right next door to Salon & Spa De Crist.
The home was first built in 1889 by Elijah T. Browning and has been completely refurbished. It can accommodate up to 10 people and has four bedrooms and four bathrooms.
Owner Liesl Hays says she operates under the motto that your vacation experience should surprise and delight you. She describes The Historic Browning as a boutique hotel inside a home. Additionally, it is professionally decorated seasonally by the owners of Very Violet Boutique and Ivy & Sparrow, which are also downtown Lee’s Summit businesses. With all the changes in décor, an experience at The Historic Browning can feel different each time.
Both The Historic Browning and Salon & Spa De Crist have bridal packages and cater to the bride and her bridesmaids. In fact, The Historic Browning has a bridal suite with dedicated spaces for hair and makeup, and they offer a breakfast with their bridal packages. Bridal packages at Salon & Spa De Crist include hair, makeup and more. Combined, these packages can make for a memorable wedding with fun and support from girlfriends.

The memories girlfriends can make in downtown Lee’s Summit do not end with time at Salon & Spa De Crist and The Historic Browning.
