North Lake Conroe Paddling
Larry Mason of North Lake Conroe Paddling has been launching kayaks into the lake at least 350 days a year, for 20 years, at the same rates. He offers the adventure of exploring the northern region of Lake Conroe's habitat while paddling a kayak or paddleboard.
His business is located off of Calvary Road in Willis on a more remote section of the lake where all kinds of wildlife can be seen, and fish found.
"I have some regular customers who come to fish. I arrive at 5 am to get their boats ready," Mason says. "They are in the water by 6:01 am. Some catch their limit of fish, and some come strictly for sport, catch and release."
To reserve kayaks or paddle boards in advance, customers should call ahead at 936-203-2697, and for more information, go to NothLakeConroePaddingCo.com.
Just Ride Watercrafts
A brand new company called Just Ride Watercrafts offers a nice cruise around the lake in a luxurious pontoon boat complete with a licensed captain aboard so you can relax or even have a few cocktails.
"We have a playlist of jazz and R&B music for easy listening," says owner, Tanijah Chavis. She and her husband, Justin, moved to Texas from North Carolina.
"We both enjoy traveling, and we gravitate to watersports like snorkeling and boat tours. We want people to be able to come out and enjoy the lake, swim, cruise around to view the lighthouse or the sunset," she says.
