Galentine's Gourmet

A decade-long tradition of connection, creativity, and cuisine

This February, love takes center stage at Galentine’s Day Gourmet. Once a month, nine remarkable women come together around a single essential ingredient: love. Love for exceptional food. Love for the thrill of mastering new recipes. And love for one another.

For more than a decade, this shared passion has transformed simple gatherings into something extraordinary. As they put it best, it’s “a delicious celebration of love, food, and friendship.” These cherished monthly meet-ups are a standing date with connection, creativity, and the kind of friendship that only deepens with time.

Each gathering is a sensory adventure, thoughtfully curated around a fresh monthly theme. Every dish must reflect the concept, and—most importantly—each of the nine women is challenged to create a recipe she’s never made before. Courses are carefully assigned among the group—cocktails, appetizers, sides, the main dish, and dessert—resulting in a beautifully orchestrated, multi-course feast that’s as creative as it is indulgent. The effort put into the presentation matches the creativity found in the kitchen.

A shared commitment to stepping outside their comfort zones sits at the heart of the group’s ethos. “If you don't like making desserts or if you're not good at it, pick that one!” says founding member Janelle Barber. Whether the outcome is a “complete fail” or a “huge success,” the atmosphere remains rooted in encouragement and camaraderie. “At the end of the day, it's all about learning.”

They help each other by making suggestions, transforming missteps into collective moments of growth. And according to Sharron Wolff, the group’s not-so-secret ingredient for success is simple: “Garlic! If it's in your dish, double it!”

At its heart, the group’s purpose is beautifully simple: to challenge one another and show up in support. Beyond the artful plates and the pursuit of standout recipes lies the actual main course—unmatched company and enduring friendship. The women are especially proud of their friend Tami, who has turned that shared passion into a profession and now runs a high-quality, farm-to-table operation from her own estate.
