Event Showcases Innovative Home Designs, Products and Amenities While Raising Funds for Two Nonprofits

It’s a win-win situation: an event that showcases beautiful homes and the community in which they are set for potential homeowners and other individuals looking for ideas to dress up their homes or discover new products or amenities, with admission proceeds benefiting two worthwhile local nonprofits.

The Gallery of Homes at Rivendell is a single-site home show event showcasing Oklahoma City’s finest homes and community. This summer, The Gallery is hosting its eighth show.

At this much-anticipated event, one of Rivendell’s streets is set aside to display elegant, innovative home designs, products and amenities. This year’s event continues through July 12 from 1 to 8 p.m. daily in the newest phase of Rivendell. All homes are within walking distance.

All admission proceeds benefit The Gallery’s charitable partners. To date, the event has raised more than $260,000 to Oklahoma City nonprofits. Due to the event’s generous sponsors, all ticket sales this year will go to benefit The Sparrow Project and Moore Faith Medical Clinic.

Five homes by different custom homebuilders are featured in this year’s show: Craig Smith Homes, Huffman Custom Homes, Stonewall Homes and Tatum Custom Homes. Each home is between 3,600 and 4,000 square feet and features unique, luxury amenities and beautiful finishes and style. All finished homes will be furnished for the show as well.

Tickets for the show can be purchased online at GalleryofHomesatRivendell.com. Tickets are $10 per person. Children age 12 and under are admitted for free.

All ticket buyers over the age of 18 will receive one entry to a “5 at The Fives” travel package. Travel Leaders Bentley Hedges Travel Service and The Fives Resort and Residence are donating a complimentary five-night all-inclusive resort stay for two in 2021 to the winning event attendee. The winner will be chosen at random after the conclusion of the show on July 12.

Event sponsors include BancFirst, Expressions Home Gallery, Mill Creek Lumber & Supply, Metro Appliances & More, Metheny Concrete Products Inc., Builders First Source, Pella Windows & Doors of Oklahoma, ABC Supply Co. Inc., Lennox, Acme Brick, Glazing Concepts, LLC, Bryan’s Flooring, Pacific Shore Stones, Wet Lawn Sprinklers & Landscape, and First American Title Company.

THE SPARROW PROJECT

The Sparrow Project is a nonprofit organization promoting happy and fulfilled lives of adults with intellectual disabilities. The organization began when a few families of young adults with intellectual disabilities began discussing the limited options for their adult children after high school graduation. Some go to adult day care centers, a few work part-time jobs and many are forced to stay home either alone or with a caregiver.

The Sparrow Project believes that everyone has worth and deserves the opportunity to have a meaningful life. They fulfill their mission through two programs: Sparrow University and NEST. Sparrow University offers bi-weekly arts and crafts, music classes, sports, cooking lessons and volunteer opportunities for those adults with intellectual disabilities at little to no charge. NEST hosts monthly social events, including sporting events, theater outings, picnics and dances.

The organization’s name grew out of a biblical proverb, Matthew 10:29, which states that God's eye is on things we deem insignificant. The sparrow symbolizes vigilance, joy and creativity. Sparrows are small but extremely protective. Sparrows are constantly busy building nests, foraging for food and protecting their young. Sparrows serve as a reminder that every person has worth and that busy hands and minds promote happy, fulfilling lives.

MOORE FAITH MEDICAL CLINIC

Moore Faith Medical Clinic was founded in 2015 by a group of friends who had worked two years to help the community recover from the tragic May 2013 tornado. They launched this free clinic after recognizing a need to help the uninsured and underserved in Moore. Over the past five years, the clinic, 224 S. Chestnut Ave., has seen more than 5,000 patients, provided $4 million in free prescription medications, and delivered over $6 million worth of care for those in the community.

Moore Faith Medical Clinic’s mission is to share the love of Christ in a holistic and tangible way through faith-based free medical care. The organization focuses on loving and serving the community while recognizing the God-given dignity of each human life.

"Since everyone at MFMC is a volunteer, 100% of donations go to provide free life-saving medicine and patient care," states Dave Evans, executive director and founder. "In addition, MFMC is the only totally free medical clinic and pharmacy in Cleveland County."
