SHAPE is a multi-disciplinary design firm, where the founders bring together a broad range of experience and expertise of over 40 years in the fields of Master Planning, Urban Design, Architecture, Interior Design, Graphic Design and Branding.
As a firm that is almost three years old and with a team of 17 people, they are growing with both presence and impact in numerous areas. Currently, the focus for their project types are residential, mixed-use and cultural. These projects/works are both local and international in many locations, such as Nairobi, Kenya, Haiti, Los Angeles, Alabama, Florida and Georgia.
At this time, there is a major emphasis on residential/mixed-use work that addresses affordable housing in urban areas. In the Master Planning scale of their projects, they have almost 7,000 units of housing on the boards in many states. In the Urban Design and Architectural scale, they have more than 700 units of housing in stages ranging from the Conceptual Design phase to Construction. Projects range from single-family homes and townhouses to multi-family housing.
The co-founding principals of SHAPE, Mark Hill and Herman Howard, bring a combined experience of more than 40 years. They strongly believe that everyone deserves the highest quality of life experience as possible. The firm believes in the importance of creating strong communities and places where we can live, work, learn and play.
Almost every major city accesses the United States, looking for and finding solutions to create affordable housing from the scale of the single-family house to multi-family living. Affordable housing is no longer just associated with low-income living but is more closely identified with workforce housing, young professionals and students.
