Golf Pro Gia Liwski Takes Instruction to the Next Level

Gia Liwski is at the top of her game. With over 25 years of teaching experience, she was named the Ladies Professional Golf Association National Teacher of the Year in 2022 and has been consistently listed as a LPGA Top 50 Instructor. But most importantly, she understands how to incorporate golf and lifestyle in teaching women the joys of the sport.

How long have you lived in the area?

I was born in Fort Myers, Florida, and raised in Monroe Township, New Jersey. We moved to Peapack in 2010, lived in Lebanon for five years and now reside in Tewksbury.

Do you have children?

My twins, Vemka and Roman are 10; my little one, Vida is 7.

Why did you launch Golf Experiences for Her?

About six years ago, I launched Golf Experiences for Her, which hosts golf- and lifestyle-centered events curated especially for women. These special days give women the opportunity to learn the game of golf or advance their existing game, while simultaneously incorporating sophisticated off-the-course group experiences — all in an empowering, first-class environment.

I love spending time with women, and through Golf Experiences for Her, I offer guests the opportunity to customize their day by supplementing their golf instruction/itinerary with a variety of lifestyle modules. Our modules can include segments of fashion, gastronomy, wine, mixology or wellness.

Ladies who attend our events experience a luxurious day out of the home or office, giving them time for pleasure and relaxation. Our guests leave better prepared to accept their next golf invitation and more confident in trying something new.

When did you decide you wanted to become a professional golf instructor?

I was a journalism major in college, played on the women’s golf team and worked at golf clubs throughout my college career. I started helping with junior and women’s golf early on and spent a lot of time with young golf professionals, watching and learning.

I turned professional after I graduated college. Golf can be a challenging game, and I love being able to make this amazing sport make sense to others.

Has sports always been a part of your life?

Always! Sports has been influential in my personal growth. I have been coached, trained and guided by many wonderful teachers. I learned from them and from many years of challenging myself and working hard to help my children and students become the best athletes they can be.

What advice do you have for mom entrepreneurs?

There is definitely a time to say “no” in business, especially when it comes to putting your family first, but definitely say “yes” when it comes to pushing yourself outside your comfort zone to help you and your business grow.
