Meet Five Top Cypress Docs

Dedicated to their patients and the Cypress community

Trey Patterson, DDS

Towne Lake Dentistry

What inspired you to become a doctor? What made you choose your specialized field?

I broke my arm playing football in high school, after the experience with my orthopedic surgeon I knew I wanted a career in healthcare. My freshman year at Texas A&M I had the opportunity to shadow a local dentist and loved every moment of it. Dentistry is unique because it's more than just science, there's a special art that is required to build teeth and make them look aesthetically pleasing.

What is the one thing you want people to know about your practice?

Our practice is built for any age and we want patients to feel like family! We strive to help solve any dental need in the most comfortable manner. Towne Lake Dentistry has invested in the newest technology and we are proud to be entirely digital;  x-rays, electronic record keeping, and even digital impressions.

What is on your bucket list?

I’d love to travel to the amazon river to catch Peacock bass!

What do you like to do for fun or relaxation?

Anything outdoors or sports-related! My biggest passion is wading the Texas coast for speckled trout in my free time.

What is something about you people would be surprised to find out?

My childhood dream was to become a rodeo clown!

What inspired you to become a doctor? What made you choose your specialized field?

Since I was little, I knew I wanted to work in medicine. My dad bought me a “doctor kit” when I was around six years old. I would check my stuffed animals and my parents and I loved making sure the people I cared about were healthy and I loved solving problems. My parents inspired me to dream big, so I did! Being a doctor fulfills my passion to care for others, while being able to solve problems to the best of my ability. I always wanted to be able to have time with my patients, optometry allows me to see so many aspects of their health, far beyond their eyes alone. It also lets me connect and get to know my patients and their families!

Why did you open your practice in Cypress?

Once we had children, my husband and I chose to relocate to Cypress. We knew it had so much potential for growth and the community and schools are extraordinary. I wanted to build a business in the community where I live, to be connected in the community both professionally and personally.

What is the one thing you want people to know about your practice?

My mission through my practice is to deliver the most personalized eyecare experience. I strive to provide the most comprehensive eye care with the highest level of technology; treating every patient as I would my own family. Plus, our optical boutique is beautiful and welcoming! Combining my passion for technology with handcrafted eyewear, we ensure every patient has more than just a basic eye exam.

What are your New Year's resolutions?

My resolution for 2023 is to try my best to find more balance in my life. To work smarter, not harder. To enjoy all of the small moments as much as the big moments. To hug my kids and family more, to laugh more, stress less!

What is on your bucket list?

To travel the world with my husband and children, to be able to show them the beauty of the world through culture, food, music, and to open their minds to all the possibilities!

What is something about you people would be surprised to find out?

The most surprising thing may be that I was extremely shy as a child. My mom put me in pageants and speech competitions and that's where I gained my voice and confidence. I built up my self-image and found my strength!

Fairfield Chiropratic

Why did you open your practice in Cypress?

It was actually because another chiropractor brought me to the area and suggested we open an office together. He got cold feet, but I had already fallen in love with the idea of starting from scratch in Cypress, specifically Fairfield. It’s been a wild ride, but the Fairfield and Cypress communities have been a great blessing to my family.

What is the one thing you want people to know about your practice?

My office really tries to do what is best for the patient. I learned early in my education while doing a rotation with a neurosurgeon that healthcare in America is an economic endeavor, but we have referred people to other chiropractors I respect if we can’t get them in quickly enough or they want to use their insurance and I’m not in-network. I’m not a salesman. I’m a chiropractor. Because of this, my patients trust me if I tell them they need to come in more frequently than they want to or they need to have a diagnostic test run. They know it’s a medical decision and not a financial one.

What is something about you people would be surprised to find out?

I’m going to be a grandpa soon. My daughter-in-law is pregnant with our first grandchild. I’m excited, and my wife is over the moon excited!

What is your favorite way to give back to the community?

My office supports the community in multiple ways, but we are most proud of our work with Greater Grace Ministries at Fairfield Baptist Church. We sponsor a 5K run there that raises funds to support foster and adoptive families, which is a subject near and dear to my own family.

What do you like to do for fun or relaxation?

I run. Running is my escape and my time to clear my head. I feel more rested and at peace after a good run – whether short or long. I love to run along the bayou and see a little bit of nature preserved in the city. I’ve seen bunnies, turtles, skunks, possums, a variety of birds, and even a fox on a run along the bayou.

Houston Dermatology Specialists

What is the one thing you want people to know about your practice?

We specialize in medical dermatology issues for all ages and provide state of the art cosmetic dermatology treatments like Botox, dermal fillers, and microneedling. In addition to skin cancer screenings, we provide in-house Mohs Micrographic Surgery, a surgical procedure that removes skin cancers especially in cosmetically and functionally sensitive areas with a cure rate of up to 99%.

What are your New Year's resolutions?

New Year's is a time to set new goals and standards to improve your physical and mental health. I also like to rethink my daily skin care regimen as a whole to ensure that my skin is looking as healthy as I feel on the inside. As with other aspects of health, our skincare needs change with age, and this is the perfect time of year to reassess the products we use. I find that many of my patients have similar goals and my team and I spend time individualizing and helping patients meet their skin care needs.

What is one thing you want to accomplish in 2023?

I will be setting daily goals to silence my phone, unplug and enjoy some quality time with family. Studies show that less time spent connected to social media improves your mood and leads to better sleep. Less time spent on the phone is the perfect way to recharge your mental batteries and live in the moment.

What do you like to do for fun?

I love to play tennis. I started playing several years ago and I still cannot get enough. I’ve met a great community of people out on the tennis courts and I have so much fun playing!

What is the one thing you want people to know about your practice?

I love my patients, they have been the best & most loyal patients. We strive to do our best every day for the benefit of our patients.

What is on your bucket list?

Seeing the Seven Wonders of the world! One day we will see them all!

What is something about you people would be surprised to find out?

I am an avid sports fan! I love the Steelers, the Yankees, and of course– the Houston Astros. I grew up in the northeast so I love watching several teams, but Houston is now home.

What is your favorite way to give back to the community?

I enjoy giving back to the community through involvement in various non-profit organizations. I have been on the boards of several non-profits, including AVANCE, Pratham, and Indo-American Charity Foundation. As a family and as a practice we continue to support many local non-profits financially and through volunteering.

What do you like to do for fun or relaxation?

I love watching sports and movies together as a family! I love Marvel movies, and enjoy watching them with my son. Superhero movies are a family favorite–we all need Superheros in our lives. That was the inspiration for the practice name and logo - a stomach with a superman inspired shield and mission statement "defenders of the digestive system."

What is the one thing you want to accomplish in 2023?

Be a better human being through patience, kindness, and love!
