A Soiree to Stay

The Gingerbread Dream House Soiree

Friends of the Children hosted their first-ever fundraiser in Western Montana by organizing a Gingerbread Dream House Soiree. The gingerbread houses were designed by local architects and local bakers, resembling true-to-life structures like a big, red barn, a charming tree house, and Santa's garage complete with Santa, sleigh, and reindeer. The details were dazzling. One of the bakers, Sara Hemenway, took on the big, red barn enthusiastically and with determination. Prior to the soiree, her local talents caught national attention by way of Food Network's Christmas Cookie Championship. Sara is a self-taught baker and the owner of Frosting Cakery.

The event took place at LA Design Studio and the funds raised through the live auction and ticketing went directly to support generational change right here in Missoula. Friends of the Children pairs children who face the steepest barriers with salaried, professional mentors for 12+ years, no matter what.
