Local Organizations Offer Many Volunteer Opportunities

Often at Thanksgiving time, we look for ways to give back to our community. Many organizations in North Texas need volunteers and supplies throughout the year. Operation Turkey

Operation Turkey is a community of volunteers that works together to ensure that everyone receives a meal on Thanksgiving Day. For the past 22 years, the 100% volunteer-run organization has prepared, packaged and delivered meals to the homeless and less fortunate. The organization’s goal is to feed 55,000 this year. OurCalling

OurCalling is a faith-based team of volunteers determined to help the unsheltered homeless in Dallas. The organization is serving a traditional Thanksgiving meal the Wednesday before Thanksgiving. Love Thy Neighbor

Love Thy Neighbor offers food and clothing assistance for those in need in the community. Volunteers and donations are needed for the organization’s Food Pantry and Distribution Program, Clothing Program, Love Thy Baby Program and Love Thy Pet Program. Heart of the City Lewisville

Heart of the City Lewisville’s mission is to love others, serve others and help others. The faith-based organization provides assistance with food, clothing and counseling.
