OKLAHOMA CITY – When it comes to a tasty hamburger, there are few places better than Nic’s Grill in Oklahoma City’s Ten-Penn District and at Nic’s Place Diner and Lounge located downtown at 1116 N. Robinson Avenue.

But owner Justin Nicholas has embraced a tradition of giving back to the community during the Thanksgiving holiday.

“I’ve always looked out for others,” he said, noting that giving back to the community that has supported him for so long

Nicholas, known to most as “Nic,” opened his small grill back in 1997, when that area of town had seen better days. But his free Thanksgiving dinner attracted a large following. Now, he has to charge for his holiday meal.

And with help from his mother, Dena Dellinger, along with co-owner Jovon Bunkley, and the staff at Nic’s, folks can get a traditional Thanksgiving meal.

“Oh, it’s traditional with the turkey, green beans, stuffing and a roll,” Nicholas said. “I think it’s pretty good every year.”
