Discover the Magic at Glass Arts Collective

Walking into the Glass Arts Collective transports you into a colorful, light-filled artists’ studio, where whimsical and beautiful unique creations delight the senses and attest to the inspiring moments that take place inside these walls.

Blue-hued slumped glass vases, multicolored vibrant glass trays and plates, pretty glass flowers, mushrooms and ornaments, jewelry, giraffes, hearts and bowls compete for the viewer’s attention as they take in the awe-invoking art displayed throughout the studio. Many pieces are available for purchase and others serve as examples of the amazing art that can be created at Glass Arts Collective.

Owner Nancy Marks discovered the wonders of glass art by chance when she took a class with her mother at a senior center.

“I didn’t think I had a creative bone in my body. After I picked up my first pieces…WOW! I was wrong!” says Nancy.

Drawing on her technology sales and administrative background, Nancy decided to take a leap of faith and change career paths. Armed with business acumen gained from years of experience, Nancy created Glass Arts Collective in February 2020 and says she loves coming to “work” every day and sharing her love of glass art with others.

We make magic with our favorite material: glass! We cut it, shape it, melt it, glue it, solder it, paint it, slump it and above all, LOVE IT!” says Nancy.

Glass Arts Collective welcomes people of all skill levels, from beginner to advanced, into the studio to explore the wonders of creating with glass.

“Glass is a friendly material—everyone can learn to use it to create beautiful decorative and functional works of art. Join us for the magic making,” invites Nancy, adding, “Our classes and workshops in fused glass, mosaic and stained glass are open to all. Whatever your level, our fully equipped glass studio and enthusiastic instructors welcome you to explore and play.”

Once they’ve learned the basics, students can work on their projects during open studio hours, Wednesday through Sunday. People can come in and choose their materials and have access to all the tools and space needed to create whatever their imagination can dream up.

The studio is also available for birthday parties, business meetings or gatherings of any type.

“Ages 7 and up are welcome! You can reserve the studio for special events,” says Nancy. “We try and customize everyone’s requests. We have various classes; bring your own food and drinks and be happy! We’re currently booking holiday parties for business and friends.”

Glass holiday ornaments are a popular item available for sale or to make at Glass Arts Collective in December. Check the website for class times and dates.
