Dr. Danielle Stalp’s mission to heal with Unity Wellness

Dr. Danielle is no stranger to pain. In fact, she’s well acquainted with it.

A longtime migraine sufferer, she remembers having her first one at just 11 years old. Over the years, doctors explored a range of treatment options—from diet changes to medications.

“They tried everything,” Dr. Danielle recalls. “I was able to manage them through sleep, stress management, food, and knowing my triggers, but they were never consistently gone.”

A Michigan native, Dr. Danielle says her search for the source of her pain became a powerful motivator. In graduate school, she was introduced to NUCCA—the National Upper Cervical Chiropractic Association. This specialized, gentle chiropractic technique focuses on aligning the upper cervical spine to improve overall health, function, and posture.

NUCCA changed her life.

The technique has kept her migraine-free for months at a time. Inspired by the results, Dr. Danielle made it her mission to deliver the same kind of care to others through NUCCA chiropractic and functional medicine. With only a few hundred NUCCA practitioners across the United States and Canada, her presence in Elkhorn is a unique and valuable asset to the community.

Dr. Danielle says her personal experience with migraines is what ultimately led her to start her own health clinic. “I can sympathize with people’s pain because I’ve been there,” she says. “I don’t believe anyone should have to live with pain, and it’s become part of my mission to help others feel better. Pain is not normal.”

She opened Unity Wellness in 2019 with a vision to serve patients through individualized care. Three years ago, she completed a functional medicine program, expanding her ability to help patients with a wide range of health concerns. Functional medicine works to reduce inflammation, which helps patients maintain their NUCCA adjustments longer. The two disciplines often go hand in hand.

“My goal has always been to focus on the whole body and educate patients so they feel empowered by the knowledge they receive,” she says. “I encourage patients to actively participate in the healing process. The body is a self-healing organism. It’s very intelligent.”

Dr. Danielle’s dream has always been to offer one location where multiple services work together to provide the best in natural health care. She believes collaboration with other practitioners only enhances the quality of care offered.

Unity Wellness isn’t just for migraine sufferers. Her training also supports patients dealing with fibromyalgia, TMJ, sciatica, carpal tunnel, vertigo, and chronic pain conditions.

The practice has clearly filled a need, drawing patients from well beyond Elkhorn. Some travel hours to receive the care they need to improve their quality of life.

In addition to her growing practice, Dr. Danielle is passionate about education—not only for her patients but also for the next generation of chiropractors. She currently teaches chiropractic techniques, including NUCCA, at Life West through Bellevue University.

At Unity Wellness, NUCCA and functional medicine are the foundation for identifying the source of pain and providing lasting relief. Dr. Danielle’s focus is on expanding access to this unique approach. “Our care is different—we look at the body as a whole unit, providing a customized experience for every patient,” she says.

Danielle sees a bright future for Unity Wellness. “My goal is to add another doctor to the office so we can serve more people. There’s just so many people out there who are sick or suffering, and they don’t even know about NUCCA,” she says.
