Gold Standard Orthodontics for All Ages

Webb Orthodontics is a family-owned business founded in 1981 by Dr. Mickey Webb. Dr. Colin Webb joined his father in 2013 and together they worked hard together with one goal in mind: to create the perfect orthodontic practice. From the team members to the office amenities, their attention to detail with regard to quality orthodontic treatment and the patient experience is second to none. Dr. Nicolette Chahin and Dr. Jamie Martin joined the practice last year and brought a wealth of knowledge of the newest technologies and high-efficiency treatment protocols. Webb Orthodontics is an all-star team.

The practice has hundreds of glowing reviews, many of them echoing this sentiment: “This practice is one of the most efficient, professional and well-run offices I have ever seen,” Erin D. says in a patient review. “The staff is so friendly and all of the doctors are amazing!”

From the new patient consultation to the celebration of braces removal, Webb Orthodontics wants its patients to actually enjoy their smile journey. Every piece of equipment at the practice’s beautiful, convenient office in SouthPark is on the leading edge of orthodontic technology, which translates to the most effective and comfortable treatment.

The practice uses the most advanced 3D digital imaging machines, which provide exceptional information for the doctors to use in diagnosis and treatment planning while also significantly reducing radiation exposure. Webb Orthodontics offers a comprehensive array of orthodontic services, including expanders, traditional braces, clear braces and, of course, Invisalign.

Invisalign has been a complete game-changer for orthodontics. This system allows patients to discreetly straighten their teeth while not missing out on the joys of life. Dr. Webb and his team have been awarded the Top 1% Diamond Plus Invisalign Provider distinction. This is Top 1% in the world...the world!

We sat down with the doctors of Webb Ortho and asked them questions we thought many potential patients and parents may be asking and below are their responses!

Q: One question I think all parents have is, “When should I bring my child to the orthodontist?”

A: The American Association of Orthodontists recommends children have their first orthodontic consultation around 7-8 years old. These are always complimentary at our office. Most often, orthodontics is not required at this age. However, in about 20% of cases, early interceptive treatment is indicated to avoid things like permanent teeth extractions, impactions, crossbites or jaw surgery down the road. If we can correct things like small dental arches and crossbites early with expansion, then we often avoid the need to extract permanent teeth or discuss jaw surgery later. We feel that 3-6 months of orthodontic treatment at this age to avoid more complex and drastic treatment measures as a teenager is well warranted.

Q: We hear a lot about Invisalign. What is the difference between braces and Invisalign?

A: The short answer is, the teeth don’t know the difference. They move based on how pressure is applied. With an orthodontist highly skilled in both systems, one is not better than the other. With that said, there are many differences between the two systems, and one could be better for YOU.

Traditional braces and wires are bonded to your teeth for the duration of treatment; they require less patient responsibility and compliance. However, because Invisalign is removable, there are no food restrictions during treatment, and the aligners can be removed for big life events like homecoming/ graduation for our teens and professional/social events for our adults. Invisalign also requires less in-office visits and is generally described as more comfortable than braces. So while Invisalign requires more discipline and responsibility, it provides a lot of benefits and flexibility.

At our office, we can treat almost every case with either system and the cost is the same–so really it’s just a decision for our patients to make. We have also recently started our Invisalign Teen Guarantee, which allows our teens to try Invisalign risk-free for 6 months to see if it’s a good fit. If the compliance isn’t up to par, we will switch to braces for no additional cost!

Q: For our more seasoned adults out there, is anyone too old for braces or Invisalign?

A: We have never refused to treat a patient based on age! As we age, there are certainly different considerations that must be taken into account, but we have treated patients from ages 6 to 86. Orthodontic treatment is helping our adults that have a lot of enamel wear, plaque traps and traumatic occlusion (bite) regain their health and function. Using Invisalign especially, we are giving our adult patients the smiles of their dreams in just a matter of months with minimal disruption to their social and professional lives.

Q: When is the best time to start orthodontics?

A: The sooner your start, the sooner you’re done! We have so many patients right now that are taking advantage of working from home or virtual learning. While there is no better time than the present to start anything that’s good for you, this holds especially true in our current societal conditions. Our typical teen braces case has an average treatment time of 18-20 months, while our adult Invisalign cases only take 8-12 months on average–with some simple re-treatment cases finishing in just a few months.

Q: Most people think orthodontic treatment is very expensive. Is this true?

A: While you can’t put a price on enjoying a beautiful smile for a lifetime, at Webb Orthodontics we not only have different treatment options at different price points, but we also have $0 down, 0% interest payment plans that start at just $78 a month! We will do everything in our power to knock down the financial barrier to treatment. We want everyone to be able to manage the financial aspect of treatment so that they can have the smile they’ve always wanted!
