GOOD AS GOLD

Celina High School Female Athletes Shine in the 2021-2022 Season

Celina's female athletes have been a force in the recent years. Cross Country and Celina Cheer brought home UIL State Titles. Volleyball made school history becoming the State Runner Up. At time of print, girls soccer is heading to the regional quarterfinals. This is just a snippet of the many accomplishments of our Celina female athletes. A few of these young ladies  are taking the next step and continuing their sport in college. Meet these amazing athletes. 

MEGAN HODGES

Megan started playing volleyball at nine years old. She has been a part of club teams who have qualified for the USA Junior National Championship at the highest level. Megan has played varsity for Celina all four years. She has won numerous awards including District Setter of the Year, was MVP in multiple tournaments and was a part of the UIL All-State tournament team. Megan received a full 4-year scholarship to play D1 volleyball at Tarleton State where she is planning on majoring in Mathematics.  

TAYLOR ZDROJEWSKI

Taylor has been playing soccer since she was four years old. She has received numerous awards including U-15 Girls Development Academy Playoffs Golden Boot, The Dallas Morning News’ 2021 girls soccer Player of the Year, USA Today HS Sports Girls HS Soccer Player of the Year, United Soccer Coaches/MaxPreps Texas High School Player of the Week in February, ECNL Texas U-17 1st Team All Conference 2020-2021, and 2021 District 11-4A Co-MVP. She has received a full scholarship to go play soccer at Texas Tech University where she plans to study Architecture.

ADDIE DAVENPORT

Addie started playing lacrosse in the second grade, most recently playing with McKinney Lacrosse Club. She has played for five travel club lacrosse teams and is currently on the nationally ranked team, Grit (Dallas) Lacrosse. Addie’s high school team won the 2021 District and State Championship, where she was named All-District. She was elected Captain this Spring. Addie will play lacrosse for Notre Dame College (NDC) in Cleveland, Ohio, joining brother Reagan where he plays football. She plans to major in Accounting with a double minor in Intelligence and Cybersecurity with hopes of being in the FBI. 

ADELE CLARKE

Adele started running in a small running club in the fourth grade. That lead to her running 5ks, 10ks and even a half marathon. She started running track and cross country in middle school and her love and passion continued. She has won an individual state championship in cross country and track plus a team championship in cross country. She owns the school record for the 1600 and 800 with times of 4:58 and 2:11 respectively. Adele will be running for Texas Tech University and plans to study Media and Communications.
