Last year, Venice Lifestyle’s principle contributing photographer, Stephanie Snow, met makeup artist Ashley Robinson when both were working a wedding. Their work synched together perfectly and their lovely styled and photographed bride, Abby Reagan, made Venice Lifestyle’s September 2020 cover. Since then, Stephanie and Ashley have been looking for creative ways to collaborate and highlight the variety and versatility of their work. Into this mix comes Bailey Scott, 19, a Venice High School graduate with aspirations in musical theater and modeling.
“With this shoot, Stephanie and I wanted to step outside the box of what we normally do and show our range,” explains Ashley, owner of the Give Me Glam makeup studio in Port Charlotte. “We started with Bailey barefaced, that ‘Cover Girl’ eyes look, then I added lashes, defined her brows. Next, I went to makeup, a bold, winged-out eye shadow, added scarves, red on her lips, gave her a Christmas look, a Fourth of July look. It was great to try so many different things.”
For Stephanie, the shoot was an opportunity to experiment with lighting, composition, handling a range of colors, and editing.
“I’ve been wanting to do a photo shoot to play and experiment and just create new and different looks,” Stephanie says. “I had the idea of using the sunglasses, which came from Island Optical. The red/white/blue top is actually a scarf that I thought we'd use in her hair that we turned into a top. Then we had fun with adding more dramatic makeup and using red as our feature color. I’m always looking to learn and improve my techniques.”
For Bailey, the shoot was an opportunity to further her modeling aspirations.
“I felt confident in this shoot, really comfortable,” Bailey says. “I like being creative in front of the camera, but I also listen to the photographer and respect her vision. I love being on the stage and modeling. I know they’re difficult careers to break through in, but they're so much fun and they are my passions.”
Bailey has appeared in Venice Theatre productions of Dreamgirls, A Christmas Carol, and Peter Pan. She’s considering UCF’s theater department because of the university’s proximity to opportunities at Disney.
Ashley and Stephanie are available for weddings, events, proms, family experiences, or just when someone wants to dress up and have fun.
