Investing in your home’s beauty and value by incorporating natural stone elements

Working with natural stone materials comes easily to Javier Mutis, owner of Granite For You. Growing up in Barcelona, Spain, Mutis worked with granite alongside his parents, who founded their international company in 1970. Now, he uses his years of experience and keen eye for quality to import high-end natural stone from around the world. “We offer special stone that many people do not see in this market because it is very hard to find,” he explained. “We import materials from India, Malaysia, China, Italy, and Spain. Our partners with quarries extract the stone for us in blocks. Then we have our own company in Brazil that cuts the stone into slabs and polishes it. Once it arrives here, we fabricate the slabs for a custom fit and provide expert installation.”

Marble, granite, quartz, and quartzite are highly versatile and durable, making them perfect for investing in a home by adding value and beauty. In addition to countertops, natural stone adds a luxurious, high-end aesthetic to fireplaces, wine cellars, pools, indoor and outdoor flooring, and bathrooms. “I love the process of how you can turn a stone into a countertop or a fireplace and make a big change in a house,” said Mutis. “And natural stone is not a disposable thing, it is something that if you put it in your house, you can have it for the rest of your life. We know this because most of the monuments in the world are made of marble. Take for example the Colosseum in Rome, you can tell how strong and durable the stone is because it has been there for thousands of years.”

Visiting the stone gallery at Granite For You makes choosing the perfect stone easy. “We like customers to come and feel the stones, see exactly what they are buying, and feel the energy of the stones,” he explained. “Then they can open their imagination and see how it would look in their home. We can also help them with the design process. Many of us have lived all over the world and can offer designs that are unique from what people normally see here.”
