Did you know that 1 in 6 individuals in Southern Nevada is facing hunger? At the same time, 1 in 4 children lives in a food-insecure household. Thankfully, one organization is on a mission to feed everyone.
Three Square Food Bank is Southern Nevada’s only food bank and largest hunger-relief organization. Three Square currently serves four counties in the Silver State – Clark, Lincoln, Esmeralda, and Nye. Their mission is simple: to provide wholesome food to hungry people, while passionately pursuing a hunger-free community.
Since opening in 2007, Three Square has provided more than 444 million pounds of food to hundreds of thousands of people in need and earned a reputation as one of the country’s most efficient and effective food banks.
Three Square’s 2021 Holiday Match Challenge
This year, Three Square is proud to continue its program, the Holiday Match Challenge. Since its inception, the Holiday Match Challenge has raised more than $4.2 million, equating to nearly 13 million meals. Now in its twelfth year, the Holiday Match Challenge is designed to double the impact in our community throughout the holiday season.
From now through December 31, 2021, any donation will provide twice as many meals with the help of generous matching sponsors.
How does the Holiday Match Challenge work?
During November and December, donations made to Three Square Food Bank will be matched, dollar-for-dollar, by local businesses as part of the 12th annual Holiday Match Challenge. All proceeds will help Three Square provide meals to the record-high number of Southern Nevadans experiencing food insecurity.
Three Square helps feed everyone.
Hunger doesn’t discriminate. Men, women, children, seniors, veterans, and working families struggle every single day. More than 363,000 individuals continue to face hunger in Southern Nevada. Any number higher than zero is too high.
Last year, Three Square distributed more than 58 million meals, which is equivalent to more than 70 million pounds of food. Nonetheless, food insecurity continues to be a problem this year.

Typically, every dollar donated to Three Square can create three wholesome meals. Thanks to the help of generous sponsors through the Holiday Match Challenge, one dollar can create up to six meals, allowing your gift to make twice the impact during the holiday season.
