Gratitude can be found in the simplest moments: a warm cup of coffee, a familiar face, or a place where everyone feels welcome. For Snowee Wood, owner of FeelLove Coffee Loveland alongside her husband, Tanner, gratitude is woven into everyday life and inspired by the community that has embraced their family.
As FeelLove celebrates five years in Loveland, Snowee wants customers to know how much their support means. What began as a dream has become a gathering place built around connection, kindness, and a simple philosophy: everyone deserves to feel loved.
Snowee’s love of coffee shops began in college, when she managed a café while balancing classes and another job. She discovered that making someone happy with a morning coffee was deeply fulfilling, and she knew she wanted a shop of her own. The FeelLove name originated with Tanner’s family in St. George, Utah, where they opened the original location. “It's a mentality of that type of person, and feel love, like feeling love everywhere and anywhere you go, became a slogan for us. Tanner suggested, "why don't we just name it that, "FeelLove" because it was something that we just kept saying all the time, and sooner or later, we realized that is a great idea, and Tanner's family ended up even legally changing their last name to Feellove.”
Loveland came into the Woods’ lives unexpectedly. After moving to Colorado from the Pacific Northwest, the family spent nearly two years in a small apartment during the pandemic before finding a home with land in a town they hadn't even considered. “We found Loveland out of the blue, we didn't even know Loveland existed. We just found this adorable little house that we wanted to move into, and it had some land, and so we did it. We packed up everything and moved towards the middle of COVID.”
The family eventually discovered The Coffee Tree, a local shop they loved as customers. When its owners offered to sell, the Woods seized the opportunity. After three months operating under the original name, they closed for more than 100 days to transform the space into FeelLove Coffee. With a newborn in tow, Snowee and Tanner helped renovate the shop, bringing their vision to life.
For Snowee, creating a welcoming environment was central to that vision. One of the shop’s most meaningful features is its community table, an antique piece she sanded and prepared herself. “I want people to always know that Feel Love is a place that anybody can walk into. Everyone's welcome at our shop, and that was one of the biggest reasons why I even chose to make a community table at the shop. I got this adorable old antique, and I sanded her down, and as I was doing it, I spoke words of affirmations over it that people would feel welcome and loved.”
Whether customers arrive eager to socialize or simply seeking a quiet moment, Snowee wants them to feel they belong .“It's a place where people can leave their baggage at the door. I think that's our biggest mission. We strive with our employees that every time somebody comes in, we say hello to them, and every time that they leave, we say have a great day or see you again.” These small gestures reflect a larger purpose: helping people feel seen, welcomed, and appreciated.
That intention extends to the menu. FeelLove emphasizes scratch-made ingredients and options with fewer preservatives, prioritizing thoughtful preparation over speed.“I always encourage people to try one of our specialty lattes that are made with extracts or spices or options that don't have preservatives in them. We house-make our milks almost every hour. We're making a brand new batch of milk, no preservatives in it.” From house-made milks to specialty lattes, the offerings reflect the family’s commitment to creating something distinctive. For Snowee, the care behind each drink is another way to show customers they matter.
Running a small business brings challenges, including a year of road construction outside the shop. Through difficult months, the Woods continued forward, grateful for the people who kept showing up. “September 28th is our five-year anniversary, and every year we do some type of giveaway to thank the community for choosing us, because ultimately, anybody who walks in our doors, is choosing us, choosing our family, choosing our coffee shop, and we want them to feel the appreciation. I do hope that people know that this is our labor of love.”
For Snowee, gratitude is not limited to an anniversary celebration. It lives in every visit, every encouraging word, and even the constructive feedback that helps the business evolve. Ultimately, FeelLove is about more than coffee. It is about creating space for connection and giving people a reason to feel welcome, even on an ordinary day.
The Loveland community has given Snowee’s family that sense of belonging. In return, she hopes every person who walks through the door leaves feeling a little more loved than when they arrived.
A New Chapter for Feel Love
FeelLove Coffee is preparing for a second Loveland location inside an upcoming community and wellness center. The new spot will offer a streamlined menu featuring lattes, smoothies, fresh juices, and other wellness-focused options, with a planned pickup window or drive-through pending city approval. While the opening date is still to be determined, Snowee hopes this new chapter will bring FeelLove’s signature warmth to even more people.
“If someone walks in carrying the weight of their day and leaves feeling seen, welcomed and a little more loved, then we’ve done what we came here to do.”
