With 18 holes with 5 tee sets along the Chattahoochee River, experienced golfers are challenged at RiverPines. What will returning golfers find new or improved since last summer?
One of the reasons golfers from all over the area enjoy the RiverPines course is because of the Chattahoochee River setting and the peaceful environment of not playing through a neighborhood. On most holes, it is just your group and nature. We have recently completed a major bunker renovation project. We installed the “Better Billy Bunker” system throughout the course which will provide superior playing conditions for our players and also be more maintenance-friendly to our maintenance team.
And, for novices, you have a par 3, 9-hole, 951-yard, links-style golf course. What are your favorite holes on the 9-hole course and why will they appeal to beginners?
Number 3 is my favorite hole on the par 3 course. It is around 100 yards in length with a well-protected green on all sides. There is a pond and bunker on the right and woods behind the green which offer a very nice view. The par 3 course is a great place for beginners and families to enjoy the game without the pressures that comes with a full championship course. It’s not unusual to on any day to see fathers and mothers with their children and grandparents with their grandchildren. It's truly a family oriented place to enjoy golf with the entire family.
Which hole has the most beautiful view?
Depending on the time of day or year this one can change for me. However, the first one that comes to mind is the tee box on #4. From that spot you can clearly see many holes on the front 9 and when the sunlight reflects off the pond it’s very pretty spot. The other spot is the tee shot landing area on hole #1 as it overlooks several holes and looks out toward the Chattahoochee River.
