Gregorio’s Trattoria proudly opened its newest location at Park Potomac on September 9, 2025. With its inviting outdoor dining area, this fourth location joins others in Potomac (Cabin John Village), Bethesda (Sumner Place), and Reston (North Point Village), continuing the family-owned restaurant group’s tradition of excellence.
Co-owners Greg Kahn and his father Donald draw inspiration from Italian culture, celebrating the joy of gathering around food. Their mission is to create welcoming spaces where families, friends, and individuals can share memorable meals and meaningful time together.
The restaurant’s heart lies in its authentic Italian menu. Under Chef Carmine’s guidance, recipes passed down through generations come to life, from rich sauces to tender meatballs. “We use whole tomatoes and fresh ingredients, making food the way your grandparents would,” says Greg. Guest feedback is essential, ensuring quality and innovation remain top priorities.
Gregorio’s accommodates diverse dietary needs with an extensive gluten-free menu and flexible substitutions. Favorites include pastas, pizzas, salads, parmigiana, steaks, and veal and pork chops. Generous portions mean most guests leave with leftovers. Their signature 18-inch pizzas, larger than typical “extra-large” pizzas, are perfect for sharing. The bar complements the menu with hearty wine pours and expertly crafted cocktails.
Park Potomac’s vibrant atmosphere enhances the dining experience, making it a gathering spot for neighbors, friends, and even celebrities. Larry David, a University of Maryland fraternity brother of Donald’s, recently visited and enjoyed the welcoming ambiance.
Community engagement is a cornerstone of Gregorio’s philosophy. The restaurant actively supports fundraisers, schools, and local organizations. A few years ago, Donald, a board member of the American Breast Cancer Foundation, helped organize a successful fundraiser at all locations.
Frequent diners can join the rewards program, earning $10 off every $100 spent and a $10 bonus for signing up. It’s one of many ways Gregorio’s shows appreciation for loyal patrons.
As Greg expands the Gregorio’s Trattoria brand, his commitment to family and community remains steadfast. Living in Potomac with his wife Kate and their three sons—Bob (10), Nathan (8), and Gordon (5)—Greg envisions spaces where people connect, celebrate, and enjoy the timeless flavors of authentic Italian cuisine.
