Created by award-winning chef Troy Guard, Guard and Grace combines luxe ambiance with inspired cuisine. Located in the newly renovated One Allen Center, the restaurant encompasses 15,000 square feet of floor to high-ceiling windows. The restaurant offers exciting twists on steakhouse favorites.

Chef Troy is a world-traveling culinary artist who has crafted his menus based on a lifetime of worldly experience. He discovered his love for cooking while growing up in Hawaii, surrounded by fresh ingredients. After working his way up from a dishwasher, Chef Troy became a sous chef under the instruction of chef Roy Yamaguchi. From there, he began traveling worldwide, including China and Japan, learning about different cuisines and flavors.

Opening TAG Restaurant Group out of Denver back in 2009, Chef Troy has been growing his restaurant empire ever since. He has won numerous awards, including “Great Regional Chefs of America” by the James Beard Foundation. He is also involved in the Beard House's non-profit organization, dedicated to ensuring all in the culinary industry have the opportunity to thrive.

In 2019, Chef Troy opened his first restaurant in Downtown Houston, Guard and Grace, named after his daughter. The interior is gorgeous, decorated with luxurious furnishings and stunning architecture. Natural light pours through the building during the day, and spectacular city views shine through in the evening. Suspended from the ceiling are 4,600 bronze rods hanging at various lengths, creating an artistic masterpiece that dazzles throughout the dining area.

The menu lists an array of delectable appetizers, including a charcuterie board and ahi tuna. One of the more popular entrees is the filet mignon flight, consisting of prime, angus, and wagyu beef. Sides are portioned generously and designed to share. Be sure to save room for one of Chef Troy’s signature desserts.

A versatile venue that hosts date nights, business meetings, and even family dinners, a meal at Guard and Grace is one you do not want to miss.
