Halloween cocktail pop-up returns to Nite Owl with immersive décor, craft cocktails and spooky fun

Halloween is getting a stylish new twist in Omaha this fall as Nite Owl joins Black Lagoon, the popular Halloween cocktail pop-up transforming 34 bars across North America into festive, immersive destinations.

Created by cocktail industry veterans Erin Hayes and Kelsey Ramage, Black Lagoon has grown from a one-time pop-up into a highly anticipated seasonal tradition. This year, Omaha is officially on the list, giving local cocktail lovers a chance to experience the fun without leaving town.

For several weeks this fall, Nite Owl will receive a complete Halloween makeover featuring playful décor, cinematic lighting, seasonal music, collectible glassware and a special cocktail menu created exclusively for Black Lagoon. Rather than simply adding a few pumpkins and cobwebs, the experience transforms the bar into an entirely new destination for the season.

“We’ve always wanted Black Lagoon to be a place where Halloween fans, cocktail enthusiasts and everyone in between can come together,” said founders Hayes and Ramage. “We’re excited to continue building that world through new venues, new creations and unexpected surprises this season.”

That sense of discovery is at the heart of the experience. Guests can gather with friends, explore the transformed space and enjoy cocktails designed specifically for the occasion. Each participating bar puts its own personality into the Black Lagoon experience while incorporating the signature elements that have made the pop-up a seasonal favorite.

For Nite Owl, the transformation offers Omaha something new to enjoy this fall. Whether it’s a date night, girls’ night out or simply an excuse to gather with friends, the pop-up provides an easy way to celebrate the season without committing to a traditional Halloween event.

The experience also gives Nite Owl an opportunity to showcase its cocktail program in a completely different setting. The limited-time menu features unexpected ingredients, seasonal flavors and creative takes on familiar favorites.

Adding to the experience, Black Lagoon will offer limited-edition glassware that guests can purchase and take home. The collection includes custom-designed pieces by artist Kisira Hill, as well as the new Abyssa the Octo-Witch Mug, created in collaboration with Tiki Farm.

With Omaha joining a lineup that includes cocktail destinations in cities such as Chicago, Denver, Miami, Nashville, New Orleans, San Francisco, Seattle and Toronto, Black Lagoon’s arrival puts Nite Owl and Omaha on a fun national Halloween cocktail circuit.

For anyone who enjoys creative cocktails, festive décor and a reason to get together with friends, Black Lagoon at Nite Owl is one seasonal stop worth adding to the calendar.

THE COCKTAILS

At the center of the Black Lagoon experience is an exclusive cocktail menu created specifically for the annual pop-up. The 2026 lineup takes familiar favorites and gives them an imaginative, fall-inspired twist.

Abyssa’s Obsession puts a seasonal spin on the classic piña colada. Pumpkin-infused Kraken Black & Gold Spiced Rum is paired with Lustau Oloroso Sherry, coconut, pineapple, lime and tobacco bitters for a tropical cocktail with an autumn twist.

Bone Temple offers a creative take on the margarita. Teremana Blanco Tequila meets Lustau Amontillado Sherry, tart cherry, spiced oat orgeat, lime, vanilla honey, absinthe and tobacco bitters.

For espresso martini fans, Moon Shadow combines nutmeg-infused vodka, Mr. Black Cold Brew Coffee Liqueur, Giffard Banane du Brésil, Lustau Fino Sherry and cold brew coffee.

The cocktails are just one part of the experience, but they may be the most delicious reason to stop by. With inventive ingredients and seasonal flavors, Black Lagoon gives Omaha cocktail lovers something new to sip while celebrating Halloween.

“We’re excited to build that world through new venues, creations and unexpected surprises.”
