As we prepare to welcome fall, we’re reminded of a time of quiet rest, a time of reflection before the stills of winter. A time where we ponder the promises of the coming spring.

A season that promises beautiful blooms sprouting from the once sleepy Earth, bright colors that awaken chilly landscapes, and light showers that nourish both nature and the soul.

So, it’s only fitting that one local organization has made a tradition of bringing together warm inspiration, fresh fashion and beautiful hearts every spring to set healing into bloom.

Megan Langham first started Society Prosper in hopes of providing healing, lending support and gathering resources for hurting youth in our area.

Ending the cycle of abuse, and cultivating a cycle of rebirth. A revival.

With many hurting hearts coming from a plethora of backgrounds, stories to be shared, wounds to be healed, hands to be held, Society Prosper has been raising funds for vital mental health services for children in need since Megan started championing community efforts in 2015.

From building awareness around possible abuse and neglect situations, to funding continued services for children learning to cope with traumatic pasts, Society Prosper is based on the foundation of breaking the cycle. A cycle that starts with the victim, and oftentimes creates patterns into their adulthood, creating future generations that fall prey to the same, harsh realities from years past.

Now having grown into the powerful organization we see today, working alongside countless local therapists, mental health professionals and children’s advocates, they’ve helped fund services for our society’s most vulnerable just when they need it the most.

Promising continued support.

Navigating seasons of uncertainty with steadfast determination.

Fading shadows as a new dawn crests the horizon.

A brand new day.

But, like the many foundations in our area, our generous and compassionate Katy community has rallied around Megan and her team to provide this light in the darkness.

Working tirelessly on advocacy, education and awareness-based events, their village has grown in numbers over the years, sprinkling and spreading seeds of hope far and wide.

And one of the ways they draw community support is from their annual spring fashion show titled, Healing in Bloom

Where community hearts come together to lend their talents, passions and raise awareness for a vital cause.

Now in its third year, Society Prosper hosted more than 150 guests this past May for their Derby-themed bash, raising a record-breaking amount of funds for their mission.

The Ark by Norris event center transformed into a high fashion show  with bright colors, elegant fascinators and embellished styles honoring the season of blooms.

Bringing a taste of runway sophistication to Katy are looks curated by Monica Marie Boutique, Teal Poppy boutique and Ethan & Emily Children’s Boutique. Fashion with a purpose.

Handsome gents sporting soft pastel palettes, stunning ladies in floral patterns and delicate laces, and pint-sized models showing off polished looks and playful demeanors.

The energy in the room is bursting with pride, with gratitude and with sincerity.

In addition to glamorous models, the space is meticulously perfected, every detail adorned, all thanks to donors and volunteers who share in their immense care.

From the floor to the ceiling and around every corner you see pieces provided with love.

From fashioned decor to the generous auction items, to the hors d’oeuvres, the wine and spirits served with smiles - this community gathering is led with love.

A true gathering of light, of hope, of helping hands to provide our young a safe place to land.

In addition to their next Healing in Bloom Fashion Show, Society Prosper is hosting their 5th Annual Cirque Royal Casino Night on September 26 at Hotel ZaZa Memorial. For more on their mission, upcoming events, or how you can become an ambassador, please visit SocietyProsper.org.
