We all know what that should mean, but with all of our knowledge many of us still don’t eat right or take enough time for ourselves. We need to put ourselves at the top of the list before our cars and even our homes. Do you plan for health and wellness maintenance? Most people make a list or a plan for everything else.
Let's start this year with a list about keeping ourselves healthy if you're not already doing that. Most of us already know the basics to achieving good health and wellness: Eat well, try to avoid too much sugar and include lots of veggies and healthy food. Sleep is another great thing as it gives our body time to refuel and recharge. Daily exercise is so important. Walking is like food for your bones and joints. Additionally, getting our homes in order can create a calm, less stressful environment. If you have a health problem, take care of it while it's small.
Write things down, as it will help your brain remember it. Make sure you’re reading, and even playing cards is so good for your brain every day. So many of us really don’t think about this, but even the circle of friends we surround ourselves with can improve our outlooks on how we see the world and help us live in a more positive way.
Giving back also has a very positive effect on us. If you have not done it lately, you’ll appreciate the feeling, I’m sure.
Your health is affected by the many moments that make up your day; remind yourself to be kind to you and to nurture yourself. Start your day in a positive way, limit yourself to only positive news and end your night by being grateful for all you've experienced. Remember to do monthly check-ins. If you fall behind, don't beat yourself up, just restart. Be mindful.
Remember we all have the same opportunity to be the best version of ourselves. Are you doing that for you? Remember the rule that we all know—put your own oxygen mask on so you can not only help yourself but others too. Also, fill your cup first so you can share with others. Be the best version of yourself!
