What was the inspiration for starting goGLOW?
goGLOW owner, Melanie graduated from the Aveda Institute and was travelling to Mexico for a graduation celebration vacation. Being fair skinned, she does not dare spend any time in the sun so she sought out a custom spray tan before her trip. Melanie loved her airbrush tanning experience and wanted to elevate it, and bring it to her friends and family. Years later, goGLOW has mastered the perfect glow for fair skin types with Melanie being the best model and inspiration for the 'not spray tanned' but tan look. At goGLOW, we pride ourselves on providing a natural glow. Your friends and family will notice that you look healthy, youthful and glowing from the inside out - without an orange tinge!
What makes goGLOW unique?
goGLOW started as a mobile-only spray tan business in 2011. We opened our first brick & mortar location in Uptown in June of 2014 when we saw the need for a faster service at a lower price point. goGLOW strives to provide a clean, professional, affordable, perfect spray tan. Since opening, we have since developed our own clean and non-toxic product line and solution that gives our clients the flexibility of showering along with the color they seek.
What are the health benefits of goGLOW?
Anytime any of our clients use their goGLOW products or get a goGLOW tan instead of spending time in the sun or a tanning bed, we call that a win. Clients are becoming more health and beauty conscious and staying out of the sun, as we now know the negative effects the sun has on our skin from - sun spots to skin cancer. An extra health benefit is the confidence boost from a healthy glow.
What can a new customer expect with the goGLOW experience?
We provide a detailed preparation guide to all clients so that they are mentally and physically prepared before their service, and to ensure their skin is in prime goGLOW condition! It may sound complicated, but it's pretty simple; exfoliate the day before, rinse the same day with water only and do not apply any products to the skin before coming in. We then have a consultation about each individual clients skin tone and skin type, and discuss their glow goals so that we can create the perfect goGLOW for them. We hand apply the tan meticulously, and dry the client before they dress. They leave knowing all of our after-care advice and can take home our goGLOW product line to help maintain their color.
What would you say is the most frequently asked question you get from customers?
Will I look orange? No. If you follow our prep guidelines https://goglow.co/how-to-prepare/, and avoid Dove/Dial products then you are in the clear!
Which is better - rapid goGLOW or regular? Our rapid solution allows our clients to rinse off 2-5 hours after they are sprayed. Both give a beautiful result - and last equally as long and fade the same. It's just a matter of personal preference and the clients schedule.
Tips on how to make goGLOW last as long as possible?
EXFOLIATE and HYDRATE!
We are partial to our EXFOLIATE mitt which gives the best result for prepping.
Drink enough water, avoid hot showers, have a humidifier in your home in the winter and moisturize twice a day.
