The holiday season is just around the corner, bringing festive meals, busy schedules, and plenty of opportunities to celebrate with loved ones. But staying on track with your health goals doesn’t have to wait until January. We sat down with the coaches at THE BOX—a community offering a 7-day free trial and nutrition guidance through its 6-week Lean Living Program—to share practical, realistic tips anyone can use to feel stronger, more energized, and ready to enjoy the season without guilt.
1. What does “Healthy Before the Holidays” mean to you?
It means setting yourself up for success before the chaos hits—building strength, consistency, and momentum around your health habits so you can fully enjoy the season without feeling like you’re “starting over” in January.
2. Why is it important to focus on health before the holiday season starts?
Because health is like a savings account—the more deposits you make now, the more you can enjoy the withdrawals later. Starting strong makes it easier to stay balanced when routines get messy.
3. What are three small habits people can start now to feel their best through the holidays?
- Drink more water (most people confuse thirst for hunger).
- Move every day, even if it’s just 15-20 minutes.
- Prioritize Eating 3-4 meals a day that are nutrient-dense (whole foods & protein), without snacking. Your energy levels will thank you.
4. Many people travel or attend more parties this time of year — what’s your advice for staying consistent?
Don’t chase perfection—chase consistency. Even short workouts, walks, or mindful choices add up. The win is in showing up, not in being perfect.
5. How do you recommend balancing enjoying holiday treats while still keeping health goals in mind?
Give yourself permission to enjoy them—just be intentional. Pick your favorites, slow down, and savor them. Enjoy a piece of pie! Just don't eat the whole pie! Moderation is extremely important when it comes to food, any time of the year. It’s about balance, not restriction.
6. What’s a common mistake people make with holiday wellness, and how can they avoid it?
Waiting until January to “get back on track.” There is never a "perfect time" to start, and you will never "feel" ready. Start now, momentum is everything—and January will feel way less overwhelming if you’ve already built some consistency.
7. How do you personally stay motivated during the busy holiday season?
Focus on your “why.” Training isn’t just about you—it’s about showing up as a stronger coach, partner, mentor, and person.
8. What’s your favorite “healthy holiday swap” or quick wellness tip?
Swap the “skip” for the “short.” Instead of skipping a workout when time is tight, do a quick 10–15 minute bodyweight circuit or "how far can I go in 15 minutes?" run. Small efforts beat no effort every time.
9. Do you have a simple at-home routine for people with limited time in December?
Yes—5 rounds: 10 push-ups, 15 sit-ups, 20 air squats, run/walk 200m. Quick, effective, and requires zero equipment.
10. If someone is just starting their wellness journey now, what’s the one thing they should focus on first?
START WITH CONSISTENCY, not intensity. Show up 3-4 times a week, build trust with yourself, and let the results compound. Small, steady wins create big transformations.
"Don’t chase perfection—chase consistency. The win is in showing up, not in being perfect."
