Sheri Marie’s Salon & Co. isn’t your average hair salon. Their work goes far beyond the standard haircut. Their transformative services are helping to restore self-confidence in clients suffering from various forms of hair loss.
Sheri Marie opened her salon in June 2012, having been exposed to the hair industry from a young age. She is a second generation hairstylist in her family. Her mother was a hairstylist for over 40 years, formerly owning one of the largest independently owned salons in Texas – About Hair.
The family ties don’t stop there. Within the team of 14 at Sheri Marie’s Salon & Co., you can find her sister, daughter and niece.
Over the past 12 years, Sheri has been continuously reinventing her business and investing in new ventures within the hair industry. This includes her notable accomplishment of adding hair toppers and wigs to the salon’s list of services.
Her inspiration to dive into work with hair toppers and wigs arose from a situation near to her heart. A loved one was struggling with alopecia areata, an autoimmune disease that causes sudden patchy hair loss. There is no known cure for the disease.
“As time went on, I realized the need and want for toppers,” Sheri said. “Needs such as postpartum hair loss, COVID hair loss, weight loss surgery hair loss, naturally thinning hair and the list goes on.”
Sheri Marie’s Salon & Co.’s services with toppers and wigs were established when Sheri founded “The WigXperts” at the salon in 2023. Their motto? No more bad hair days!
Sheri and her team of wigXperts transform their clients’ hair through a custom-tailored process. Beginning with a consultation, wigXperts test different toppers to evaluate what topper will be best for the client’s individual needs.
“Once a topper is chosen, we custom color and cut the topper to seamlessly blend with their bio hair,” she said. “Once we are done with the customizing, the client comes back in for a final fitting to make sure it is perfect, so they can leave with the hair of their dreams.”
The toppers and wigs used at Sheri Marie’s Salon & Co. are made of 100% Remi Human Hair, the highest grade of authentic human hair in which the cuticle remains intact, giving a natural-looking appearance.
In addition to hair toppers and wigs, the salon offers an array of services including haircuts for all ages, balayages, highlights, extensions and more.
A notable aspect of Sheri Marie’s Salon & Co.’s culture is their community focus. The salon often hosts events for their clients as well as collaborative events with other local businesses.
In May, the salon hosted “Wig Toppers & Wine,” an event for clients to discover the possibility of hair toppers and get professional advice from the wigXperts. Most recently she hosted (bo)Tox &Toppers with Aesthetica MD Cypress Med Spa.
Sheri Marie’s Salon & Co. has also hosted pop up events with Kendra Scott, and NobleClover Permanent Jewelry.
“We want to not only show appreciation to our clients, we want to network and build relationships with other businesses in the community,” Sheri said. “It's important that we work as a team to not only promote our services but promote others as well.”
