Hunger impacts more than your mind and body. It can also impact your self-esteem, outlook on life, and health.

Since 1982, the Houston Food Bank has been fighting hunger in the Bayou City. They have only been able to do this with the generosity of community members just like you!  Here are some ways you can help out.

GET THE KIDS INVOLVED

Children as young as 6 years old can sort food and portion bulk items, while older kids can pack boxes and check for damage.

LOOK FOR A RED BARREL

Kroger and HEB have set up red barrels for food donations. Grab an extra package of food, then drop it in the barrel after check out.

DOUBLE YOUR DOLLAR

The Food Bank's website will show if your employer participates in a match program. Visit doublethedonation.com/houstonfoodbank#/organization to view your company's policy.

JOIN A COMMUNITY

Volunteering is a great way to make new friends and and increase your overall well-being.
