Herbal Fire Cider Recipe

A natural potent, all-in-one solution to help aid your body

Fire cider is a traditional tonic that contains immune-boosting herbs and ingredients. Typically, it’s very spicy and warming and made before cold and flu season which is in the winter. The combination of immune-boosting herbs and ingredients prepares your body for the extra ailments that come during this season. The spicy qualities of the fire cider come from warming ingredients. Not only do these ingredients increase the potency of the tonic, but the heating qualities also warm the body. Your body will be physically soothed by the warming effects of the cider.

Fire cider can be made literally hundreds of different ways and through many different methods. To make this herbal fire cider recipe, we use the folk herbalism method

Ingredients

  • 1 orange sliced
  • 1 pomengrate
  • 2-3 cups of organic apple cider vinegar 
  • 1-2 cup of local honey
  • 1 jalapeno or habanero
  • 1 onion 
  • 1/2 cup grated horseradish
  • 1 lime sliced
  • 1 lemon sliced
  • 1-2 inches of grated ginger 
  • 1-2 inches fresh turmeric root 
  • 2 tablespoons of rose hips 
  • 2 tablespoons of elderberries 
  • 1-2 sprigs of thyme 
  • 1/2 sprigs of rosemary 
  • 6-8 cloves of garlic 
  • pinch of black pepper

Instructions

  1. Chop and grate vegetables, fruits, and roots such as horseradish, ginger, and turmeric.
  2. Add ingredients to a 64-ounce glass jar.
  3. Pour apple cider vinegar over the material.
  4. Shake well.
  5. Cover top with parchment paper before sealing to prevent rust.
  6. Let sit for 4-6 weeks.
  7. Strain through a cheesecloth and strainer.
  8. Mix in local honey.
  9. Store in a glass bottle.
  10. Drink 1-2 tablespoons a day.

**Optional to add extra herbs, spices, cranberries, fruit, ect. There is no wrong way to create Fire Cider.
