Founded by Sarah Killian, Hoja offers gorgeous indoor plants, distinctive planters, and Morning Light Kombucha on tap! All items are sourced from women-owned businesses, including seven local female artists. Sarah encourages customers to take their time when they stop by: "I like when people stay around and chat about plants!"

ZL Smoothie

1101 Moro St, #131 (next to Nico's Little Italy)

Start your day or boost your afternoon energy with a superfood smoothie! Co-founded by former teacher, Joe Stegman, ZL offers MHK's best fresh fruit, detox, coffee, and kid-friendly smoothies, with optional hemp, vegan protein, and kratom add-ons. Joe says, "I love making connections with our customers and do my best to remember their names like I did with my students." Try their temptingly tasty Energy Balls, made from creamy PB2, oats, dark chocolate chips, and local honey, or pick up ZL's exclusive, full-spectrum, USA-grown hemp products. 

Los 3 Amigos Mexican Store

1106 Laramie St, Manhattan, KS

Opened in 2022, this store is a treasure trove of Mexican gifts and groceries. On weekends, stop by for mouthwatering Tamales Oaxaqueños or Chicharron Preparado. All week, the store offers fresh fresas con crema, handmade flour tortillas, and Mexican pastries. Gift items include carved leather wallets, hand-painted Talavera geckos, and La Virgen de Guadalupe candles. "We want this to be a place for the community," says co-owner Judy Sarabia. The store will soon include a meat market, offering authentic carne asada!
